These meetings were held at the Kooyong office and the minutes include Present, Chair, Apologies, Minutes, Matter arising from minutes, Correspondence, Life governors, Election of members, Nominations, Reports from Regional Blind Members groups. Some highlights were: 1/8/1979 Mr Maxwell reported from an article in Sound Magazine which stated that if the present circulation of 2,600 copies of the Large Print Age was not increased it may have to be discontinued. 5/3/1980 a letter of thanks was sent to Sister Toni Cocks for her effort in arranging for Telecom to produce the raised large print telephone dials at no charge to the visually impaired. 2/3/1982 The Secretary reported that the ANZ Bank cheque templates will be launched Australia wide on March 16 and will be on display at the Kooyong Family Fair. 2/7/1982 The Secretary reported that the National Bank has produced a cheque template and that Westpac is proposing to do the same 4/51982 includes a draft copy of AFB philosophies. Ski-Horizon is the official journal of the Federation of Victorian Ski Clubs which began publication in 1949. The original member clubs were Albury Ski Club, Alpine Club of Victoria, Australian Postal Institute Ski Club, Australian Women's Ski Club (Victoria), Beechworth Ski Club, Bogong Ski Club, Bull Lodge Ski Club, Chamois Ski Club, C.S.I.R. Ski Club, Edelweiss Ski Club, Howqua Ski Club, Lazy Eight Ski Club, Melbourne University Ski Club, Melbourne Walking Club, Monsanto Ski Club, Moose Ski Club, Myrtleford Ski Club, Rongbuk Ski Club, Tallangatta and District Ski Club, Tanjil Ski Club, Telemark Ski Club, University Ski Club, Victorian Rover Scouts (B.S.A.), Wangaratta Ski Club, Youth Hostel Association, Yurredla Ski Club. Two pioneers of Falls Creek, Tom Mitchell, M.L.A., and Martin Romuld were Vice-Presidents of the Federation. Administrative record - Warrnambool Waterworks Newspaper Cuttings, 1891 to 1917
This ledger contains newspaper cuttings form The Warrnambool Standard newspaper from May 1891 to October 1917. The cuttings are reports of meetings of the Warrnambool Waterworks Trust. In the early days of Warrnambool domestic water and water for fire suppression was supplied by tanks, wells and springs. In the 1870s various schemes were proposed to find a better supply of water. In 1891 the Warrnambool Waterworks Trust was formed using water from the Merri River. This system lasted until 1939 when the Warrnambool water supply came from the Otway ranges. This system is still the water supply for Warrnambool today. The cuttings in this ledger will be useful for research.This is a ledger with a brown mottled cover and a leather spine and leather corners. The spine is partly detached. The front cover has a label pasted on it. The pages originally had hand written entries (The Minutes of a Warrnambool organisation). Newspaper cuttings have been pasted over the original writing. Annual reports were both a way of informing benefactors as well as generating new ones for charitable organisations. In 1867 an asylum and school for blind children began in Melbourne.
