This is a licence for a driver of a motor cycle in Victoria. The licence was issued in March 1916 to William Wines of Warrnambool. The licence was valid for one year. The form used was actually one for a motor car but the word 'cycle' was added in handwritten ink. This licence is of considerable interest as 1916 is an early date for the ownership of a motor cycle in WarrnamboolThis is a sheet of paper providing a motor cycle licence. The Alma Doepel Youth Sail Training program was made available to Junior Legatees between 1988-1999 and may be again when restoration of the ship is completed. The plaque acknowledges the support of Melbourne Legacy during the earlier restoration after the war following the ship's war service carrying supplies and troops in New Guinea. There was a program to send young legatees on trips on the Alma Doepel through the 1980s and 90s. The articles from the Answer show timetables and criteria for nomination of junior legatees to be selected on the trips. One of these articles mentions the war service of the Alma Doepel - the only ship with served in World War II that was still active in 1995.Illustrates another of the activities engaged in by Junior Legatees. The first Seafarers Service was held on 23 October 1905 in the St Paul's Cathedral in London to celebrate the Centenary of the Battle of Trafalgar and the death of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson on 21 October 1805. Reverend Alfred Gurney Goldsmith launched the first Seafarers Service two years later and the first service was held on Sunday 10 November 1907. National and house flags are used during the annual Seafarers Service. Eastern and Australian Steam Ship Company, a small line which played a strong part in Australian maritime history, providing links from Australia (in particular Queensland) and New Zealand to South-east Asia from 1873 to 1983.The service continue to reflect the full range of the maritime activities in Australia. Consists of 100 pages of certificates, numbered 1 to 100, with butt of each certificate retained in the book. Bound with heavy card covers, red coloured on the outside of the covers, stapled with black binding material. Each Certificate numbered, in top left hand corner, giving date, employee name, date of birth and signed or initialled by the Engineer and Manager. In the top left hand corner of the book is printers logos - The Prahran Telegraph Printing Co, King St, opposite Town Hall, telephone 108W. Most certificates issue 29.12.1919. Certificates 1 to 58 issued by HTT 59 and 60 issue with HTT crossed out and MMTB written in. 61 to 75 and 92 to 99 removed from book and No. 100 removed altogether. No. 74 is loose.
