Historical information

To recognise the achievements of those who undertook and completed a transcription course, this certificate was awarded to "a duly qualified Braille writer and competent to transcribe Books for the Blind", by the Sydney Industrial Blind Institution. These volunteers were involved in the expansion of the library as they created Braille from the print version of texts.
