Features a cross bench tramcar, 19 or 20, passing the front of the store with its blinds drawn, and many flags, advertisements and banners, including the Australian flag. The caption to the photograph is "C.T.E. corner, Bridge Street, Tram Terminus", Ballarat's Busiest Drapers. Has trams 2, 8, 4 and 1 on front of the track and alongside is a small motor bus and a motorcycles. Each tram has a person vehicle in the front. Shows depot arrangements. Two copies held. Dave O'Neil advised 20/7/2009 - agree with date.Copy 1 - " Depot view about 1915 - Geelong Hist Soc / W F S Collection." Copy 2 on rear "Depot view about 1915. Note bus in right road. Buses were housed there until 1922" in Bill Scot's handwriting and in bottom right hand corner "William F. Scott" address label. and "20" in top left hand corner. As built - Single truck, straight sill closed cross bench tramcar. As recovered - frame, roof, sides (some damage), and some internal parts. Placed on a fabricated truck - made from wheels ex Preston transfer dolly and steel crane beams ex Johns Valves. Both photographs have arrows drawn on them pointing to the top of the cross bench seating windows where it appears an external running blind has been fitted. .1 - K100 - probably about 1920 .2 - K97 - probably about 1920. Keith has noted on both prints the in-service dates, though the MMTB had taken over around that time, both painted with "Municipal Tramways" lettering.In ink on the rear: .1 -" Melbourne K97 - probably about 1920 - In service 3.3.1920, with "Municipal Tramways" lettering though M&MTB formed 1.11.1919. No magnetic track brakes." .2 - "as above except for K100 and in service date of 25.12.1919.
