Photograph of a painting by artist Nora Gurdon of Kalorama depicting Mountain Grange and the Great Barn. The painting was lent to Robert Barrow in 1997 for the Mt Dandenong Primary School Centenary. After his death it was held by the Mt. Dandenong & District Historical Society until it was returned to Elizabeth Law-Smith (grand-daughter of Thomas and Eliza Hand) in 2005. Elizabeth Law-Smith lent the Jeeves photographs for copying. The Historical Society only has a photograph of the painting. The cairn commemorating the Kyeema aircraft disaster with the addition of a smaller plaque listing the names of those who perished in the accident. This additional plaque was suggested by relatives of the victims who had attended earlier commemorations of the accident at the site. Mt Dandenong & District Historical Society members observed a minute's silence and drank a toast of South Australian wine, produced by vineyards with which some of the victims were associated, in memory of all those who lost their lives. In 1852 Bosisto opened Australia’s first commercial eucalyptus oil distillery, at Dandenong Creek in Victoria, followed by others at Emerald, Menzies Creek and Macclesfield. and began selling the oil locally. Eucalyptus oil was used as a liniment. Bosisto's bottles were generally used for eucalyptus oil. the eucalyptus oil industry was a significant early Victorian industry. Bosisto's products were commoly used in households of the first half of the 20th century. A flat-sided, brown, glass bottle with a threaded top. Joseph Bosisto was a Yorkshireman who had qualified as a Pharmacist in Leeds and London. He arrived in Adelaide in 1848 at the age of 21. In 1851 he moved to Victoria in search of gold, but instead opened a pharmacy in Richmond, where he built a laboratory to investigate the chemical and medicinal properties of Australian plants. As a result of the collaboration with von Meuller the essential oil industry of Australia began in 1852, when Bosisto commenced operations in a small, rudely constructed still at Dandenong Creek, Victoria, using the leaves of a form of E. radiata (then known as E. amygdalina) which grew profusely in the district. Bosisto soon built other distilleries at Emerald, Menzies Creek and Macclesfield. World War II soldiers packed it in their mess kits to keep foot fungus in the tropics at bay. Louis Herry had a bakery and general store in Lilydale and opened another in Mount Dandenong Road, opposite the Club Hotel. His wife, Kate, mostly ran the Ringwood store. The store was previously owned by the Blood Bros, after they moved premises closer to the railway station. From the Place of Many Eagles book, "Louis was born in Purdu, France, in 1855, and came to Ringwood from Walhalla in 1887 and erected a weatherboard house and shop opposite the Club Hotel, using a Miner's Right to secure the land. When he arrived, Louis was a married man with three children, Leopold (1882), Marie (1884), John (1886). He had married Kate Handforth at Walhalla in 1879. In later years Elizabeth, Minellia, Louis and Denise were born. Kate's father was known as the midwife of the Gippsiand township because he had once been a fourth year medical student in England, but earnt a living as a goldbuyer in Victoria. Marie Herry would grow up remembering her grandfather calling sometimes at Ringwood; he would bring the children jubilee Mixture to eat and he carried a revolver in his pocket. Often he would play the violin while Marie would stepdance on the kitchen table." Leo served in WWI, whose name appears on the Ringwood Clocktower.

The insulator factory and ovens were located on the SW corner of Velma Grove and Mount Dandenong Road approx. Quarrying for clay was done in the nearby area. Refer photographs of the factory.Two ceramic insulators made in East Ringwood from local clay. Colour grey. Conical with indentation in middle for wires. There is a second 'skirt' inside to enhance insulating performance. The inner hole is threaded.

Made by young Vincent Geraghty from clay from his father's Firebrick, Insulators & Pottery Company situated in East Ringwood. Vincent was one of a family of ten who were early settlers in East Ringwood (corner of Federal and Mt Dandenong Roads)Pottery, handmade money box. Grey base, brown top with coin slot and pointed top. This fire station was closed and a new one opened on Maroondah Highway on the site of the old miner's cottage near the corner of the Highway and Mt Dandenong Road.Five coloured photographs of the Ringwood fire station at 255 Maroondah Highway and of the fireman's house when it was sold. It later became 'The Fire Station Restaurant.'

In the 1930s, Hermann Busch constructed a concrete wall across Dandenong Creek, forming "Busch's Weir" on his Bayswater property, "Waldheim".
