Mr Mark Dreyfus, Member for Isaacs, gave a speech in the House of Representatives on Thursday 16 February 2012, after attending the official opening ceremony on Sunday 12 February 2012. He spoke about the closing of St Leonard's Cornish Campus in 2011, the community determination and achievement in establishing a new school and of Richard B. Cornish and his vision for the future. He also thanked Mr Kerry Bolger, the principal elect and the four student leaders, Robbie Boag, Georgia Bell, Kathleen Kiddell and Eliza Wilton.
