Yields information about the front of the SEC depot Ballarat following its refurbishment and set up to show off four trams, one on each track and prior to the installation of doors.Mounted photograph on black light weight card, of the front of the SEC Wendouree Parade tram depot, c1937, following the completion of the reconstruction work. "Hedge Hopping" over Kew. About mid day on the 23rd of July, 1924 an A.R.27 (Avro 504 K) plane piloted by Arthur Affleck "buzzed" the house at 91 Wellington Street, Kew, so low that the pilot was easily recognised from the ground and returned our eager waves, he then flew north to "buz" his mother at 27 Kent Street, Kew, which is situated near the west gates of the Boroondara Cemetery and after several circuits around noticed that a horse drawn funeral had been disturbed while entering the Cemetery - the horses taking fright. On observing this the pilot then returned to Point Cook where he reported 'engine trouble' over Kew. A four motor bogie drop centre combination tram of the Melbourne W7 class No. 1029, built at Preston Workshops during 1956, entered service on 1/2/1956. Fitted with sliding doors, Remote Control equipment. See webpage btm.org.au/trams/504.html Spent it appears all its life at Preston or North Fitzroy Depot.
