They have been selected primarily for their value as graphic records of fact. It is hoped that the result, in text and photography, may be a more intimate if still fragmentary understanding of the campaigns. Example of the Readings and Prayers book that is issued to Australian Army Women's Services personnel during World War 2 by the Australian Army Chaplains' Department. The book has 176 pages of suggested readings and prayers for a variety of different occasions. It was found in the archive cupboards and may have been collected due to the connection with commemorating the military service of ADF personnel.
