A 'Bendigo Advertiser' article titled 'Courtis still revered in educational circles.' This article contains a photograph of Mr. Courtis and an outline of his life and career. He was praised for his contribution to the art course as an art lecturer at Bendigo Teachers' College and particularly praised for his contribution to the development of the F.M. Courtis Art Collection at the university. Mr. Courtis also had a long association with the Bendigo Art Gallery for which he received a life governorship of the gallery for his service to the gallery.
