The Photo Album was created by Hans Beck, who interned with the donor's father (Wilhelm Eckels). The Photo Album depicts wool buying and sheep station related life between 1927-1939. Each photograph has been individually labelled.Straw coloured booklet with gold cursive writing on front cover spelling 'Photo Album'. Inside are 18 pages containing 63 photographs, each individually captioned. Richard Beck established a consultancy as an industrial designer in London in the 1930s, designing posters, booklets and advertisements for London Transport, Shell-Mex, Orient Line and the London GPO. His work was illustrated in Radio Times, Evening Standard and News Chronicle. His posters used montage and surrealist techniques, as in this example, reminiscent of E McKnight Kauffer who was prominent in commercial art in interwar England. The London Journal Art and Industry reproduced a number of Beck's posters for the Orient Line and London Transport and in 1938 Modern Publicity's annual round-up featured Beck's cover design and included a profile of his work.Brochure for London Transportgraphic design, mid-century modern, design

These brooches were made by Hans Beck, a German Templer who was born and lived in Palestine. When WWII broke out, he was sent to Australia on the "Queen Elizabeth" in 1941 and interned in Tatura Camp 3. His wife and children were left behind in Palestine. His daughter Ingrid said that although they were behind barbed wire, they were safe. Hans worked as a manufacturing jeweler in Sydney after his release from Internment. He sent for his family on 1947. A 1 x wooden triangular shape with a small four petal flower made of tiny white shells. A metal stick pin is attached to the back. B 1 x wooden heart shape. Two flowers on stems made from small pink shells. Each flower has five petals. A group of four tiny white shells sit between the flowers. A vase is carved into the bottom of the heart. A small safety pin in attached to the back. C 1 x wooden oval shape. Group of three pink shell flowers on green stems. Two flowers have six petals and a centre made from shells. This is a postcard from Patricia Boyd, Robin Boyd's wife, from London to her parents 'Gram and Poppa'.
