The truck has 'MILL ENDS Phone EMERALD 61' painted on the side of the tray, and 'W. J. Hermon/EMERALD/61' painted on the door. There is a manually operated turning indicator – a large white hand shape on a pivoting rod – attached to the door. It appears that the signal is operated through the open driver's window. Photo shows Geelong tram 40 Mercer St, city end. The tram has the destination of North. In the background is a typewriter shop, R J Reynolds? Shell service station and S G Winkler Service station with a Neptune sign. The driver has his hand on the air brake and the controller with the front driver's window open. One of a set of photos was taken between 15/2/1956 and 3/3/1956 when services operated only between Belmont and North before the final closure of the Belmont route on 25/31956 and that bogie tram 31 is not shown on the board, having gone to Ballarat on 15/2/1956 - see item 5554. He is wearing bib and brace overalls over a short-sleeved striped top with a pale rounded collar done up to his chin. The words 'Parties' and '61 Emerald' can be seen on the top of the truck, and 'W. J. Hermon/Menzies Ck/Via Belgrave/Licensed to carry 37 passengers' is painted on the door. There is a canvas covering over the back of the truck. c.1945.

Tram has the destination of City, Route 42 and an Advertisements for Ford exhaust systems. In the driver's window is the run number "K38" Behind the tram is a W class tram that appears to be showing route 17. Photo could be early 1990's, route 42 became route 109 in 2003 when the extension opened to Box Hill. Route 17 ran until 2/1997. Having a run number will also assist in dating the photograph. 3154.1 is a postcard of the Orbost viaduct over the flooded Snowy River flats. 4153.2 is of a goods train on the viaduct. 3154.3 is of a loaded goods train with the driver at the window. Two men are standing on the plate and there are two workers below where there is some water and flood debris. 3154.4 is of amachine moving flood debris on the rail line. 3154.5 shows flood damage to the viaduct across the Snowy River flats. Yields information about SEC Ballarat tram No. 19 - one of a series of official photographs in 1950 or earlier and the appearance of the tram.Digital Image of SEC Ballarat No.29 in the 1950 or earlier in Wendouree Parade with the Lake and one of the rowing sheds in the background. SEC Official photograph. A tow bar is in position indicating the tram has towed out of the shed for the photograph. The drivers front window is upside down, missing handrails, steps, destination box, glass in the front headlight, life guard and other parts - indicating the tram has been out of use for some time.
