Photo appears to be taken soon after opening of the electric trams, as the tramway is well paved compared to the rest of the street which shows vehicle tracks etc. Small horse drawn vehicle crossing in front of the photograph. Shows the position of the horse tram track in Sturt St., north side, was not up against the south side kerb. Postcard has a Christmas message on the base of it. Stamped No. 1 and dated as issued to Driver Gavin Young on 22/12/74. Signed by R.Gilbert Traffic Manager. These certificates were printed in the mid 1980's and backdated to when the driver's passed their exams. On the reverse side there is no printing and it is a white sheet of paper.
