Clothing, khaki woollen WW2 army uniform jacket. Single breasted with four brown metal AMF buttons (2 cm). Two breast pockets, (16 X 18 cm) with fold over tabs. All button tabs fastened with 1.5 cm metal buttons. Long sleeves with stitched down cuffs with V shaped peak on upper side. Both sleeves lined with cream and blue striped cotton fabric. 30 cm split at centre back from hem. Button down epaulettes on each shoulder with three captain's pips and two black stripes. Cloth badges on top of each sleeve. 1. Navy and red unit colour, (3 cm X 2.5 cm). 2. Light green, brown and blue colour (5 X 5 cm) (unknown). 2.5 X 2.5 cm square metal badges on each corner at front of collar. 5.5 cm wide cloth belt with metal buckle. Belt attached on side seams at waist by leather tabs threaded through belt keepers and fastened with 1.5 cm buttons. Cap belonged to John Kenneth Martin, padre in 2nd Australian Corps AIF. Champagnat College Wangaratta was opened in 1955 by the Marist Brothers. The sheaf of wheat on the badge represents the agricultural nature of the region. The southern cross represents Australia, the open book represents learning and the Jerusalem crosses represent the Catholic / Christian heritage of the college. The Marist 'M' represents the values and beliefs of the Marist Brothers, especially their devotion to Mary, the Mother of God. Maroon woolen boy's cap with gold and maroon braid trim on the peak. Cap is sewn in eight segments with cloth covered button at peak. Black cotton lining with circle of cream cotton in the centre where details of maker and owner are recorded. Inside the makers were Philip Joseph and Son, Melbourne. It was made for Callenders Pty Ltd Wangaratta. Size is 6 5/8. Two owner's names: Original owner M.J. Monga or Mongu and Mongan has been written above this. Cap has information 'Improved fitting',' Pure wool,' 'Guaranteed Quality' and 'Genuine Flexite Peak.'

The Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps (RAAOC) is the Corps within the Australian Army concerned with supply and administration, as well as the demolition and disposal of explosives and salvage of battle-damaged equipment. The Corps contains clerks, operator supplies (including q-store staff, warehouse staff and food technicians), petroleum operators, parachute riggers and ammunition technicians. Members of the Corps are nicknamed Roaches. Unlike other Corps within the Australian Army, there are no longer any RAAOC specific units, instead RAAOC sub-units sit within mixed units such as Combat Service Support Battalions (CSSBs) or Force Support Battalions (FSBs). Apprenticed and worked there till 1945, then moved to Footscray. The origins of the Royal Australian Engineers date back to 15th November 1860 when the Corps of Engineers was founded in Victoria by Peter Scratchley. By 1876, five of the six colonies - New South Wales , Victoria ,Queensland ,Tasmania and Western Australia - had raised their own engineer units.
