This crochet chart was designed by the twentieth century crochet pattern designer, Mary Card, for the Victorian Centenary in 1934. It was published in the Australian Home Beautiful magazine on November 1934. The chart was published in four sections, with instructions for working it as a complete piece. Mary Card lived in Olinda and published books of her patterns and individual patterns in Australia, American and English magazines from 1909 until the 1930s.Giant paper crochet chart of Mary Cards Victorian Centenary cloth design, featuring Australian animals, ships, buildings and horseman. Chart has FLORENCE / MCNABB 1944 written in pen ar thje bottom. Over the orignial pattern which was printed with VICTORIAN / CENTENARY 1934. Chart is in 4 pieces, each attached to Cardboard. Elizabeth Jane Blamire, b. 1865 and Rary Emelia Isabel Blamire, b. 1863, were two of the eight children of William Blamire and Mary Ann Blamire (née Green). The Blamire family lived at Linton, where William worked as a blacksmith and painter. This flyer represents the historical process of elections celebrated in 1910 in Melbourne Victoria and one of the proposed options. The link to Legacy is not known. Legacy was founded in 1923 by returned soldiers from the first world war. Dr William Nuttall Maloney was a long serving member of Parliament from 1904 to 1940. This piece represents the kind of social issues that required attention at that time, and the kind of system they used for voting. Matte finished paper flyer about the Melbourne 1910 elections. Has a photo of the candidate on the front side and a description of the promises and details at the back of the card. Front side, Yours Fraternally W. Robert Simeon Nelson established a carpentry and cabinet making business in Linton from about 1858. His services included coffin making, and over time the business gradually evolved into "Nelson Bros Undertakers". R.S. Nelson married Mary Ann Dawe in 1864. The Fashion & Design collection of the Kew Historical Society includes examples of women’s, men’s, children’s and infants’ clothing from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Items in the collection were largely produced for, or purchased by women in Melbourne, and includes examples of outerwear, protective wear, nightwear, underwear and costume accessories. This silk and lace evening dress was made for Lily Clara Wishart (Mayoress of Kew 1906-7) by her niece, Mary Clara Cresswell (nee Skewes), who according to the donor, Lily's great niece, was a 'high class dressmaker'. It is one of two items in the Fashion Collection owned and by Clara Wishart.Long black fine lace evening dress buttoned to the waist at rear. The machine made lace on net fabric features a leaf pattern. Mary Hardy was an Australian television and radio presenter, actress, writer and comedian. She was the youngest sister of the writer and novelist Frank Hardy. Mary Hardy was born in Warrnambool, Victoria but spent most of her childhood growing up in Bacchus Marsh. Mary Hary had a long and successful career which included her winning multiple Logie awards for her television role as the co-host of the variety program The Penthouse Club on Channel 7 in the 1970s. She died by suicide in 1985 at the age of 53. Prior to her death she had been working on a play about her life. After her death her brother Frank Hardy developed her project into a play which was first performed at the Playbox Theatre in Melbourne in 1992. Maryanne Fahey, comedian and writer, and well known for creating the comedic schoolgirl character Kyle Mole performed role of Mary Hardy in this first production.Printed book. Paperback. 84 pages.
