Fiction based on true story. Story of Italian taken prisoner of war in Africa and sent to Tatura, Australia. He is billeted out to a farmer at Tylden, Central Victoria. Describes life on the farm. Returns to Italy after war but then returns to the Victorian farm. Marries and moves to Gilgarre. His son becomes a league football player, Adrian Batterson.
