From the Jessie Partington Scholes collection. Jessie was an amateur singer from age 12 to her death and a member of the pioneering Partington family of Greensborough. The item is her admission ticket as a choir member for the memorial service for the late King George Vi, held at Victoria's Parliament House on 17th Feb 1952. The item is a limited edition as it was only distributed to choir members. It is in good condition and has reliable provenance through her niece, Faye Partington Fort. This item is significant as part of the Jessie Partington Scholes Angus (1902-1989) collection. The Partington family are Greensborough pioneers.Printed on buff card. Edged with black. Photographed outside the Wendouree Parade depot, late 1887, with 16 workmen standing or lying around the tramcar. Builders Photo. Tram is lettered "BALLAARAT TRAMWAY CO LIMITED". A sign on the advertising board says "Duncan & Fraser, Builders, Ballaarat". The men around the tram are dressed in trade clothes, with aprons, including carpenters, painters and blacksmiths. JANUS (1910-1932) - 1913 sold to British India S.N. Co. 1932 sold for scrap, possibly burnt out and scuttled Visakhapatnam as breakwater 7th January 1933.Half ship builders model in glass case with rear mirror. The original ship was a passenger/cargo steamship built by Palmers, on Jarrow-on-Tyne in 1910 for A Currie & Co. of Melbourne. 4,824 gross tons. 399.93ft x 53.15ft (121.9 x 16.2m). Two invoices to Robin Boyd for the windowalls and additional door frames at 290 Walsh Street. The three windowwall items are drawn with specifications. In 1952-53, Robin Boyd designed the Stegbar ‘Windowall’ - a prefabricated, structural framing/glazing system - to create a wall of windows. These ‘Windowalls’ were used extensively in domestic architecture across Australia from the 1950s to the 1970s. Boyd also designed the factory and showrooms for Stegbar Limited. The Tivoli Theatre was an open air theatre located behind the ANA building on View Street in Bendigo which began operating in 1910. This pamphlet features portraits of popular silent film actors of the day such as Paul Capellani noted French star and Miss Florence Turner American actress alongside tobacco slogans such as 'For Aroma, Sweetness and Flavour.' The 'Seasons Greetings' message from the Tivoli Theatre is limited to the front page which features illustrations of a fairy, Father Christmas and various Australian characters.Fold out, double sided, two colour printed brochure promoting Perfection Tobacco and the Tivoli Theatre Bendigo. The Official RSL Tankard Collection issued to commemorate the four main conflicts in which Australian service personnel had participated prior to issue in 1983. This limited edition set of four tankards was manufactured by Franklin Mint and was exclusively for RSL members. Each tankard depicts three scenes relating to the particular conflict represented. The tankards are circular and incorporate a handle. Each of these large tankards is made of white glazed porcelain and has a capacity of 0.6 litres. Black and white photograph of Coach and Horses Hotel in Maroondah Highway, west of New Street, now adjacent to Eastlink Freeway, on northern side. There are two duplicate photos. Certainly the photo was taken post-1940 as the previous Coach & Horses Hotel, on the south side, burnt down in 1940. The telephone pole indicates that era, with limited lines. The style of the building was Art Deco that generally existed in the 1920s-1930s but did continued in Australia in the 1940s. The building has the appearance of being newly-built. Was H4, in the old cataloguing system. -
