Newspaper Clipping from The Courier, October 1971, titled "Tram 42 Retires as a Church Kindergarten", with a photo of tram No. 42 being manoeuvred into the Zion Congregational Church yard in Sebastopol on a low loader, with the church in the background. Notes that tram was delivered by SEC workmen and that the foundations had been prepared for several weeks prior to delivery. People mentioned in the story are Rev Syd Munn, C. Merrett, SEC I. The single page item details the visit of the SEC Commissioners to Ballarat 16/7/1936. Gives a list of the people from the SEC who visited. Met with Council, explained the purpose of the SEC - "not for profit". Visited the operations of the SEC in Ballarat, tramway works under the supervision of R. H. Meakin and a visit to Electra Hall. Newspaper clipping from The Courier, 20/3/1963, titled "Bluebirds cause keen excitement in the city", recording the passing of the convoy of Donald Campbell's Bluebird car and speedboat through Ballarat and stopping outside the Town Hall. Photo has tramcar 14 and a bogie tram in the background. Donald Campbell himself was unable to attend. Bluebird was one the motor vehicle used in the land world speed record attempts of the era.
