Tour undertaken by the TMSV to cellebrate No. 27 reaching 1,000,000 miles in Ballarat. Has a photo of the tram No. 27 at the depot (see item 3316 for a black and white print) and a photo of some of the travellers from the TMSV inside the tram (see item 3317) for details of the people. Instruction to Ballarat motormen and depot staff dated 13/1/1950, about ensuring the controller was closed in the off position before opening the automatic circuit breaker. Appears this was not done on tram 14 and a fire resulted. Significant damage can result of the action. When the tram was rewired during 2024, this fire damage was apparent. East Preston Run number plate 'P89' used for the vehicle identification system used in the AVM. Item was pushed into a slot of a reader which then recognised the identification through the series of holes on the left hand side. Fitted with metal strips, riveted on, to enable the card to be slotted into the holder by the crew member and then withdrawn when not required. A coupling device appears to be a feature at one end. Behind the tram are trees and perhaps gardens.
