Rubber stamp - pocket stamp - opens up to give a rubber stamp (possibly initials or a number) with a small inking pad and stamp. Made from brass with metal pins and a small spring. Possibly has the photographers name on the rear - E. Melo?? Rod Atkins in an email dated 5/4/2021 notes that the Leyland "Cub" with Preston Workshops body still in original condition and livery. Note the white wall tyres. Gold Medallion 8 stars, with a shield in the centre which has been engraved "E M". On the rear engraved "Presented to E Murphy as a token of esteem from fellow employees at Malvern Tramways". On base stamped "Catanach" with three jewellers Hallmarks. Possibly c1915. Made for Catanach Jewellers of Melbourne, by based on the Hallmarks, by Willis & Sons of Melbourne, manufacturing jewellers.Demonstrates a gold medallion presentation by the Malvern Tramways (PMTT).Metal - 9ct gold - medallion engraved with the initials EM on the front and an engraving on the rear. Destination roll - white lettering on black background. Destination roll used at the MMTB Footscray depot. Has stencil words "STOP" on bottom, stencilled miniature destinations on rear to assist drivers to locate the destination. Roll has a short unpainted section at the bottom. Destinations in order from top are: ; RUSSELL ST; BALLARAT RD; SPECIAL; FOOTBALL GROUND; AMMUNITION FACTORY; PYROTECHNIC FACTORY; CITY VIA HAYMARKET; SPECIAL E. The roll is missing a top section, possibly (based on a Footscray roll held in the BTM Archives), DEPOT; WILLIAMSTOWN RD; RAILWAY STATION. SPECIAL E - thought to be for the Explosives Factory. Through running to City from May 1954 when track extended and connected to main system. Set of destination indicator equipment that was fitted to Z3 and A class trams. Each item consists of various electronic parts contained within a metal case that could have been cabled together. Equipment manufactured by (Carl) C. Brose of Wuppertal Germany and maintained by Font Electronics of Melbourne - some items have the manufacturers details on them along with the details of the maintenance company and serial numbers etc. Photo .1 - shows the set of equipment as placed on display in the training room. .1 - set of two route number boxes, three individual controlled blinds, driven by a motor and control gear. Has a Fluro light fitted internally. See images .2 to .5 .2 - Small side destination indicator, with driven blind, electronic equipment with motor on the underside of the box - for use in Z class trams - see images .6 to .9 .3 - as for .2, but with motor mounted right side, used in A class trams, see images .10 to .12 .4 - set of two control panels with selection equipment for selecting the destination (by number) and route number with indicators and start button - see image .13 to 14 .5 - set of two long main rolls indicators, with control gear and Fluro light internally, driven by an internal electric motor - see images 17 and 18 .6 - set of two linking mechanism for the various boxes with large cables cut off for each of the four tram boxes. Booklet - 16 pages centre stapled with in a purple red stippled cover outlining the "Malvern Electric Tramways Club - Rules and Constitution", dated 27/2/1941. Note on page 3, that the club was to consist and limited MMTB male employees. One its aims was to promote and maintain a sick, accident and funeral fund.
