Model of Bendigo bogie, ex Hawthorn Tramways Trust, four centre doorways, tram, No. 23 in a SEC colour scheme with the destination of Quarry Hill. The Modeller has detailed the seats throughout the tram and the controls. Balsa wheels had broken off, repaired with 'O' gauge wheels along with other parts by the Museum's model builder.Demonstrates model tram building. One of a series of Ballarat and Bendigo tram models. Part of the Zakrzewski Collection of spinning wheels donated to the National Wool Museum by Mr Wlodzimierz Zakrzewski. For many years, Mr Zakrzewski collected, researched and repaired spinning wheels from all over the world. This is a German wheel for spinning flax and it dates from the 19th century. The plaque on the back gives the name of the original owner: Anna Dorothea Adelheid Gruther from Orbinghausen, Germany. The date presumably refers to when she was given the wheel. This type of trolly is known to date from prior to 1910 and were in use before petrol engines were used to transport workmen along the railway lines. The exhibit was located at Colac in 1961, after being used on the Colac to Beech Forest and Crowes narrow gauge railway. In approximately 1934 Beryl Jacquier (nee Keenan) was given this pram. The pram was purchased in Melbourne and picked up by Beryl's uncle who brought it by train to Seville Station (in Killara). Beryl's mother, Una Keenan, was the post-mistress who operated the post office from her home which was next to the station. When Beryl grew up and left home she and Una would write letters to each other every day so that there was always something in the mailbag for Una to process.Cream painted wooden dolls pram with sprung metal frame, black metal wheels and handle. Part of the Zakrzewski Collection of spinning wheels donated to the National Wool Museum by Mr Wlodzimierz Zakrzewski. For many years, Mr Zakrzewski collected, researched and repaired spinning wheels from all over the world. This spinning wheel is English and is made mainly from oak. It dates from the late 19th century and has elements of Chinoiserie in its design. It was originally bought from Portobello Road, London in quite poor condition and was later exchanged by Mr Eric Corran (a manufacturer of looms and spinning wheels) for a spinning wheel in working order. William and Elizabeth Box established a flower garden on 2 lots of the 'Henry Dendy Special Survey 1841' and raised their family living in Box Cottage .
