Part of the Zakrzewski Collection of spinning wheels donated to the National Wool Museum by Mr Wlodzimierz Zakrzewski. For many years, Mr Zakrzewski collected, researched and repaired spinning wheels from all over the world. This is a Polish wheel from Pomerania which dates from the early 20th century. It is made mainly from oak and was purchased from Izabela Trojanowska of Wrzeszcz, Gdansk, Poland.
Part of the Zakrzewski Spinning Wheel collection.
Notes relate to blanket design, marketing, retail and production and repeatedly refer to ‘Phillips’. Refers to Physician Blankets, so possibly related to Collins Brothers Mill Pty Ltd.
