This stained glass lancet window was presented to Christ Church by John Fletcher's immediate relatives as a memento to his Life and influence. He was born in approx. 1856. Henry Sutton was born at Ballarat on 03 September 1856. He taught Electricity and Magnetism at the Ballarat School of Mines between 1883 and 1887. Sutton was an incredible inventor. The Somerset Inn was built for Edward Carter Holmes by carpenter Isaac Sutherland and his two sons in 1855/1856. Situated on Bruce's Creek on the Shelford - Bannockburn Road. Bruce's Creek was the original name for current day Bannockburn. Black and white photograph of a house with slate roof and window shutters. The front fence is stone. Duncan Cameron, the second son of Ewen and Marion Cameron, was born in 1856 at Ashby and died at Linton in 1936. He worked as a stonemason, and was an active member of the Old Lintonians' Association. Charles Todd was one of the pioneers of meteorology in Australasia. Sir Charles Todd (1826-1910) was an astronomer, meteorologist and electrical engineer. The first known residents were Mr and Mrs Walter Pretty and their family who moved there in 1856. Mr William Collins took out a miner's right in 1886 and Mr and Mrs Frank Lowe bought the freehold when the site was auctioned in 1930.History of families associated with the property originally leased on a miner's right near the corner of Yarra Street and Cemetery Road circa 1850s, and later had a frontage to the Main Road with access from to Taroona Avenue.

Catherine E. Heffernan pictured age 16. She was born in 1856 in Maryborough and married Frederick Hurst in 1872 at age 16 when this photo was taken. They settled in Hurstbridge where they had three daughters. Catherine died in 1943 aged 87. This photo forms part of a collection of photographs gathered by the Shire of Eltham for their centenary project book, "Pioneers and Painters: 100 years of the Shire of Eltham" by Alan Marshall (1971). The collection of over 500 images is held in partnership between Eltham District Historical Society and Yarra Plenty Regional Library (Eltham Library) and is now formally known as 'The Shire of Eltham Pioneers Photograph Collection.' Anthony Truscott ( 1856-1913) was a Cornishman who came to Bendigo in 1880. He initially undertook mining interests before opening a grocery store in 1884. The house at 2 Havilah STreet, "Kilhallen", was probably named after his hometown in Cornwall.Real Estate advertisement for a home built by Anthony Truscott in 1900 called Kilhallen. There are three photos, one of the two story house, one of the ornate fireplace and a small add on building at the rear.
