There was also Warrens Grocery Store. There were mullock heaps and wood stacks. The manager of the Garden Gully Mine was also held up and robbed when his horse was shot at and wounded. Hand written notes titled 'Bells In and Around Bendigo from Alex. H. Stone. In 1951 the bell of H. M. A. S. Bendigo was presented to the City during Centenary celebrations. It was hung in the foyer of the Town (now City) Hall. This ship was a minesweeper in the Second World War. Handwritten notes mentioning Mr Busst (1/4/38) and Extended Puddling Claim; New Zealand Gully Rd (east of Pecock's house- known as ''Alice Springs'' claim. Some erasures at bottom. Photo: Note on back of photo states Öutside the Magazine '- coloured photo of three men standing in front of corrugated iron shed. Description attached reads' all the explosives for the mines in this area were stored here. A formed track runs to the door with earthworks all around to guard against blast. A trolley ran from each building on a wooden track. Wheels were copper. Two buildings formed the magazine, one in front of the other. This was to store caps and other explosives. Inside the magazine are numerous racks. Externally buildings were provided with copper lighting arrestors, later removed by vandals. Still to be seen are tracks in asphalt where woollen ( wooden ? ) rails ran. A good metal road ran right to magazine ( gravel) In front of the magazine building is botanical gardens area ( between it and Simpsons Road ). A cricket pitch also in the area more to the rear of Fitzpatrick's Hotel. Eaglehawk's first golf course is said to be in this area. Magazine keepers house still stands next to McLelland ( water bailiff )eaglehawk, powder magazine, eaglehawk, powder magazine, magazine, simpsons road, botanical gardens.

Topics and policies mentioned in the speech include : Rotary, Housing, old people, gaols and institutions, roads and motor cars, parking and traffic confusion, education (university for Bendigo), industries, libraries, power and transport, water supply, sewerage, swimming pools, and the dangers of Communism. Education Department Victoria War Service Record 1914-1919, hard cover contains 313 pages with black and white photographs. Originally presented to Bolger's Road School. Note pasted inside front cover states that the book was presented to William Graham when the school closed to be returned when a new school was built.
