The 34th Infantry Brigade was raised in Moratai and consisted of three Infantry Battalions. Namely the 65th / 66th /and 67th Battalions. On the 23rd November 1948 they became the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Battalions. The Royal Australian Regiment became the key component of the new Australian Regular Army. The origins of the Royal Australian Engineers date back to 15th November 1860 when the Corps of Engineers was founded in Victoria by Peter Scratchley. By 1876, five of the six colonies - New South Wales , Victoria ,Queensland ,Tasmania and Western Australia - had raised their own engineer units. Made for ex service organisations as a souvenir of service in the Royal Australian Navy.None government issue, blue felt pennant with screen printed naval badge, Kings Crown and letters R A N.

It was probably made to be placed on the head table at meetings of the Naval Association of Australia.A cut of the Naval Association of Australia Badge attached to a wooden background set on a wooden base. The badge has a King's Crown on top indicating that it is pre 1954. Provision is made in the side for flags to be inserted. It has the Australian Flag mounted on one side and Royal Navy Flag on the opposite side.
