Shows tracks up the hillside with passengers riding in carriage down the short course railway at Kalorama. The railway was built around 1950, initially to carry building materials. It was burnt in the 1962 bushfires. Phil McClure gave a talk to the Historical Society 15/8/2009. These photos were taken by members of the Woods family. Map highlights Lockwood House at the corner of Lockwood Rd, the 9 hole golf course, and Sunnyside guesthouse. Photograph of the railway line to Gembrook and the water tank at Menzies Creek in the centre of the picture. This area, known as The Tanks, is the site of the landslide that closed the railway down in 1953. Glen Park homestead is on top of the hill on the left.

Two black and white photos dated 1962 from the National Archives of Australia, showing the Puffing Billy train in the Dandenongs. - Ground is steep and heavily treed and may be the stretch of line between Menzies Creek and Clematis Station. - Large trees line the track. There is a driveway below the line with large puddles. A car can be seen crossing the line behind the train. A lightly treed hill is visible in the background. This may be the crossing at the Clematis end of Menzies Rd with Tivoli Farm in the distance.

B&W postcard sent to Jean Hermon's mother, Jane Beazley. It shows two men standing on a railway jigger and a third man in front of them, seated on a small three-wheeled vehicle on the track. All are dressed in hats, waistcoat, trousers and shirts. The railway line passes through thick bush. 'Narrow Gauge Rly. Gembrook' is printed at the bottom right corner. The original postcard has three patches where the surface is missing.

Five photographs of Menzies Creek and other villages during the August 2020 Covid Lockdown, taken by Kate Leigh. 027/37 is a photograph of a drinking tap in a park, with a sign saying “Drinking taps closed until further notice”. 027/38 is a cafe sign instructing customers “Please order inside only 3 customers @ a time inside. Wait outside for your order. Thx for your patience.” 027/039 is a shop with a corrugated iron roof, closed off with tape. 027/40 and 027/41 both feature close-ups of railway tracks, with the latter showing weeds sprouting from rails.

B&W postcard, 'Gembrook Train Leaving Fern Tree Gully'. The postcard has a photo of a level crossing at Ferntree Gully. The down train has just cleared the crossing and a large group have either just crossed the line or are about to. One woman is carrying an umbrella. A horse-drawn carriage is in the process of crossing the track, obscured by a large shrub. There is a warning sign at the crossing saying 'Railway Crossing, Look out for trains'. Behind the train is a hill with scattered trees. The photo has a patterned, printed frame around it. On the back of the postcard is a written message. 'Am sending ad/vanced birthday/ cards to the/ little girls with/ love. Had a letter from Addie last/ week. A.S. Hunt' and in the address panel, 'Mrs W. Upton/ Wyndham/ Werribee.' A postage stamp has been removed from the card, obscuring the date stamp.

Photograph of Puffing Billy train halted near the tanks below Menzies Creek, where drivers would take on water. The hill behind rises up to Black Hill Rd. In 1953 a landslide fell onto the tracks in this area, leading to the line's 9 year hiatus.
