Elaine Mann was married to David Mann, a successful Wodonga businessman and community leader who passed away in Wodonga in June 2012. David was a member of the Mann family who began their business in Wodonga in 1920. Gertrude Perry was born in California Gully in 1917. Her singing skills were recognized at an early age. She later sang with local choirs and sang on radio. She was involved with the Bendigo Operatic Society for many years. Gertrude began her working life in sales. After studying book keeping she worked at the Bendigo Ordnance Factory during WW2 and then worked for local solicitors and accountants. Set of four black and white prints of W2 221 derailed at South Melbourne tram depot, late 1960's? This tram was used a training vehicle for recovery crews to re-rail trams. Again possibly an early use of this vehicle as such - has "Kenric Best for Boys wear" sign on one end, and a "Collision not to be moved" Auxiliary board on the other end. The base has the AGM mark for post 1934. Bottle would hold 26 fluid ounces. Crown sealed closure of type c1950s. The Richmond Brewing Co existed from 1926 to 1962 when it was sold to Carlton & United Brewery. It used the Nathan System of brewing hence the N.S. in its name. It is the Legacy run Anzac Commemoration for Students that is held just prior to Anzac day for school students to attend. Legacy has run the student ceremony annually and it is well attended. The ceremony provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain an appreciation of the Anzac spirit, the significance of the Shrine and the meaning of Anzac Day. The last train ran to Beech Forest on 30 June 1962. It had a particularly motley look: 180 passengers were loaded into a series of NU goods wagons hastily fitted with temporary seats and, given the time of year, tarpaulin covers. The G42 locomotive had patched-up repairs and cannibalised G41 parts. Intending travellers faced up to the trip with some trepidation but the train made it with no problems. On this cold, gloomy day when it got back to Colac it signalled the end of narrow gauge operations in the Otway Ranges.B/W.
