... Employees Pass badge No. 127 ...Stamped enamelled round brass piece with a hole stamped at the top and ring placed through. Used as a SEC tramways employees pass. Has the SEC logo in the centre, organisational name (State Electricity Commission of Victoria) in white enamelled and outer ring the words "Electricity Supply Department, Provincial Tramways". This was in blue enamel. On rear stamped the number "127" Was issued to Mr. Adam Balloch, carpenter with the SEC depot. Victoria - By-Law No. 1 - August, 1965" ...1297 - Booklet with red heavy card cover and 24 pages inside and a four page supplement glued into rear cover giving details of the by-laws operating for the SEC tramways in Ballarat and Bendigo. Gives details of the definitions, fares and charges, sale of tickets, regulating number of passengers, stopping places, nuisances, smoking, dangerous goods, luggage and goods, general matters and fares broken into adult fares for each section and Children's fares and Pensioners' Concession fares for both Ballarat and Bendigo. Note - introduced decimal currency into the fares as well as pence. Document number on front cover "TYE 1-270". This by-law replaced or revoked all previous by-laws and amendments. Came in effect 1/10/1965 with a fare rise. Received Governor In Council approval on 24/8/1965. These fares have been amended in pencil for Ballarat. The amendment pasted into the rear of the booklet is dated 2nd August. 1966 and came into effect on 1/9/1966. 1297.1 - ditto, but actual used copy by D. J. Everett - see Reg. Item 2292 for details of SEC Ballarat Employee. On page one or title sheet, has an additional amendment pasted in - dated 14/1/1969 giving details of fare increases in Ballarat and Bendigo to come into effect 14/1/1969. Single sheet printed both side. See also Reg items 66 and 281 for this sheet of paper by itself. Item added 2/3/2003. 1297.2 - booklet as above for 1297, but without supplements - in as printed condition 8/1965. 1297.3 - as for 1297 with 1966 and two number 1969 supplements pasted into the book. One 1969 supplement at the front and additional at the rear. 1966 supplement pasted into the rear of the book. Has BTPS Catalogue Numbers 207, 208 and 209 written onto the front of the booklet. Four other copies - unnumbered held. Additional items added 10/7/2005. Additional copy of 1297.3 added 6/8/2016 from donation of T. ... "Timetable Route No. 15, Sturt St. West to and from City" ...Bus timetable for Davis Urban Services Ballarat, route 15 on light green duplicating paper. Route 15 - Sturt St. West to and from City. Not dated, but probably c1975, as Davis have moved to their "then" new depot in Norman St. Ballarat. Timetable gives times for departure to and the terminals, notes on intermediate times, notes on variations to standard arrangements and location of terminals. On Sunday, the bus served the Botanical Gardens area and route 15A, which served Lake Wendouree by Gardens Kiosk. Has a Davis bus logo - poppet head and bus. Was designed to be folded in the centre. Two copies held. Document has spaces for the various signatures, seals, schedules and Order No. Order was granted by the Governor in Council under the electric light and power ACT of 1928. Has definitions, including railways and tramways. Schedule three allows for details of tramways and railways. Has space for the Minister in charge of Electrical Undertakings to sign the order. Has form number of 10679/40 in bottom left hand corner - therefore it has been assumed that form is printed in 1940. Stapled in the top left hand corner. Block of 25 No. 13 cent Parcel Tickets ...Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat and Bendigo tramways and how they were presented.Block of 25 No. 13 cent Parcel Tickets. Two part printed ticket, using sepia ink on white paper with a gummed back, stapled with a single staple at the top onto a cardboard sheet. Ticket Nos. A007001 to A007025 The ticket butt or top portion has the form number "TYE 3-590". The second or middle portion was to be affixed to the parcel to be carried. It has the name of the organisation (SECV), "Parcel Ticket 13c", conditions of carriage and ticket number, prefixed with the letter A. The lower portion was retained by the sender, was to be initialled by the conductor, organisation name, "Parcel Ticket 13c", conditions of use, ticket number and a space where to be initialled by the conductor. The 1969 Schedule of Fares and Charges gives the conditions of the use of these tickets. See Reg. Item No. 704. 1727.1 - As above, Ticket Nos. A007405 to A 007405. Added 16/10/04 - after being on display in cabinet in 39 since 1992. 1727.2 - as above, ticket numbers A007660 to A007675. In filing cabinet at depot until 10/2005 when collected. BTPS 5d - over stamped No value ...Demonstrates the Museum's ticketing systems and ongoing production of tickets.Block of 200 tickets - light red ink on off white paper, original denomination 5c, lettered A 185600 to A 185799, headed Ballarat Tourist Tramway and over stamped "CHECK TICKETS NO CASH VALUE". The 200 tickets have been stapled onto a heavy cardboard back with a heavy metal staple. See also Reg. Item 2306 for over stamped 5c tickets using a different stamp. The tickets are in the style of the former State Electricity Commission of Victoria tramway tickets. Tickets originally printed for general use on the trams 1974. ... "Specification No. 100 - Birney Safety Car" ...Specification document comprising printed cover, eight typewritten pages (black carbon copy) and two photo pages of a J.G. Brill Co. of Philadelphia PA, Birney Safety Car. Specification No. 100, revised 1/10/1919. On the printed cover, which has three holes for a clip on the left hand side, printed with the Birney Safety Car trade mark, the names of the J. G. Brill associated companies (American Car Company of St. Louis, G. C. Kuhlman Car Co. of Cleveland Ohio, and Wason Manufacturing Company of Springfield, Massachusetts). On the inside of the front cover and on the outer back cover is the Brill logo. On the inside of the back cover is a floor / seating plan of the Birney Safety Car, giving overall dimensions, location of equipment etc. Item secured with one brass clip in the top left hand corner. The eight typed pages details the specification of the construction of the tramcar, equipment details etc for a single truck, double end Birney Safety (tram) car. Gives dimensions of the tramcar, materials, construction methods, finishes, equipment, glass, etc. Also details additional items that could be ordered with the tramcar. First photo shows the Birney car without a trolley pole, lettered for the KC Rys. Co. The second photo shows an interior view of the tramcar. ... No. 206" ...Catalogue No. 206 of the J. G. Brill Co. of Philadelphia PA, titled "Brill Trucks" on front cover and "City and Interurban Trucks" on page 1. Comprises: Card cover very light grey on outside, grey inside which is a larger size than that of the rest of the book. Has the names of the J. G. Brill associated companies (American Car Company of St. Louis, G. C. Kuhlman Car Co. of Cleveland Ohio, Wason Manufacturing Company of Springfield, Massachusetts and Compagnie J. G. Brill, Paris France) as well. On the inside of the front cover and on the inside back cover are patterns involving the Brill logo. To the printed catalogue is a matching out 4pp again with the same Brill logos. This sheet is the same size as the text pages. Forty page printed text on a heavy gloss manila colour art paper. Front cover gives details of Brill's office addresses, and agents, including the Australasian agent - Noyes Brothers. Page 3 gives an introduction to the quality of Brill trucks and page 39 gives an index to the various trucks and components. Each truck type has a photograph, parts list and dimension details. Trucks covered are: Radiax, 21E, 22, 22E, 27E, 27F, 27G, 27MCB, 39E, 50E. Equipment detailed are the Half-Ball brake hanger, oil retaining center bearing, standard journal (axle) box, solid forged side frames and axle data. Page 38 details the information to be provided when ordering trucks. Image of each sheet added 25/3/2015.On front cover, date stamp of ESCo, Ballarat "1 Apr 1914". Was originally a block of 50 two part printed ticket, using red ink on 60gsm cream paper with the top half part having a part gummed back, stapled with a single staple at the top onto a cardboard sheet. The ticket butt has the form number "TYE 3-17". The top portion was to be affixed to the newspaper package to be carried. It has the name of the organisation (SECV), "Newspaper Package Ticket 3d", conditions of carriage and ticket number, prefixed with the letter B. The first seven tickets have been removed or used. All the lower tickets have been torn from the top half of the block, it would appear in they were damaged. The lower portion was retained by the sender, was to be initialled by the conductor, "Parcel Check 3d", conditions of use, ticket number and a space where to be initialled by the conductor. Lower portions not on block are 8659 to 8564, though 8561 present loose. Tickets in full book numbered on both portions from Ba008650 to Ba008699.
