Object. Brass coloured metal medal with 1mm hole drilled in top edge. This medal was produced by the Borough of Eaglehawk to commemorate the Jubilee Year of Queen Victoria. Framed Olympic Games 1956 Photomontage print with Limited Edition Certificate attached. Presented to the South Gippsland Shire Council from the Olympic Games Committee, Sydney 2000. Cream card window mount with engraved text panel set in light brown wood frame. The photomontage features images of the the Olympic Torch and Commemorative medals atop with text and signatures above a collection of ephemera, memorabilia, items of clothing and objects relating to the Olympic games.

Photo of Puffing Billy coming around the horseshoe bend at Selby and beginning to cross the trestle bridge, heading away from Belgrave. The engine is only part shown. It is hauling four open-sided carriages with canvas covers, and a further six or so enclosed carriages. There appears to be no wind as the smoke is hanging above the train. Railway infrastructure (barrier fences) can be seen in the foreground, and there are wires across the left side of the photo. c. 1920

Established in 1870, the National (renamed the Royal in 1890) Agricultural Society of Victoria, uses 'Speed the Plough' as its motto which is embossed on the medal. The engraved part of this medal reads “City of Caulfield Horticultural Display 1981, 1st Prize".Round, gold plated medal measuring 50mm in diameter with "The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria" embossed around edge, an engraved central plate with an embossed representation of a sheep above and cattle below. The engraved side of the medal has "The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria" around the edge, and the engraved part in the middle reads "CITY of CAULFIELD / HORTICULTURAL DISPLAY / 1981 / 1st Prize". Observe side reads "SPEED THE PLOUGH / RASV / ROYAL SHOW".

The 1886 Irrigation Act in Victoria introduced the first legislation in Australia designed to enable the creation of a detailed scheme for agricultural irrigation. Part of the legislation saw the use of government funds for local irrigation projects. These local projects were managed by local irrigation trusts. The Lerderderg Irrigation and Water Supply Trust was formed in 1890. This map depicts the proposed area of the Trust and proposed works such as channels and weirs.Printed paper map of the proposed Lerderderg District Irrigation and Water Supply area showing proposed works. The set of 30 cards were used by Miss Frida Striezel 1898. A rare, interesting set of numbered 1 - 30 cardboard cookery instruction cards - The Department of Public Instruction, Victoria Australia. They instructed how to prepare very Australian dishes with an English influence - e.g., Yorkshire Pudding, Pea Soup, Steak and Kidney Pie. The Government Printer's name indicates these were produced between 1887 and 1906. The cards are stored in a purple floral damask drawstring bag. There is handwritten sheet of paper with the above information.Handwritten in grey pencil at the top of every card is 'Frida Striezel'. On the back of Card 2 is handwritten in faded black ink No 1 -30 the title of the 30 recipes on the cards. Australian women's shirt from the closing ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Designed by Mambo Graphics.Short sleeved and collared with six clear plastic buttons down the right side of the shirt. Shirt features the Mambo "Suburbia" design. This medallion was awarded to Mirth Marfell for swimming. The award was given to students in Victorian schools for advanced prowess in swimming and lifesaving. Mirth Marfell was a student at Warrnambool High School in 1935 when she received the medallion. Warrnambool High School was established as an Agricultural High School in 1907 and, after a merger with Warrnambool North Technical School, it is known today as Warrnamboool College. Mirth Marfell, the daughter of Henry and Helena Marfell, was born in Warrnambool in 1919. Her grandfather, John Marfell, a Warrnambool hay and corn dealer and miller connected to the Warrnambool Co-operative Milling Company, was prominent in community and civic affairs in the town. Mirth Marfell completed her nursing training at the Warrnambool Base Hospital and served in the Australian Army Nursing Service in World War Two for five years. She then became the first Australian nursing organizer for the Victorian Royal College of Nursing. This medallion is of interest, firstly as an example of the medallion given to students for swimming achievements in the 1930s in Victorian schools and secondly because it was awarded to Mirth Marfell, a Warrnambool person who had a distinguished nursing career.Circular metal medallion . Obverse features raised semi naked figure holding a cloth across the lower torso with one hand and a palm like branch in the other hand, an oval shield with text and decorative sprays of leaves. The reverse features the back of a naked female figure with long hair and a trident holding the hand of a child half immersed in the sea, another child"s head is raised above the sea. A lighthouse is featured on the distant shore. The Morgan family ran a store in Sussex Street from 1894, known as the Linton Economic Store. It was run between c.1906 and 1930 by J.H. (John Hutchison) Morgan, between 1930 and 1956 by R.H. (Robert Harold) Morgan, and between 1956 and 1964 by S.E. (Selwyn Eric) Morgan. Alwyn Roberts worked at the store from about 1946. See information in Charles & Alwyn Roberts family file.
