Notebook, with three sections of 16 pages each, two pink, one blue, stapled individually onto a yellow coloured card cover and then covered with a printed black and gold patterned sheet to cover the staples. Shown in a tabular form are the timetables for each of the Ballarat and Bendigo routes in the 1960's, for Mondays to Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Gives the run number, times at various points, special workings, terminals, short workings. The tables for Sundays in Bendigo has been prepared but not filled in. In the blue section has various notes on Ballarat weekday runs, timetables. Demonstrates aspects of the SEC governance system in issuing By-laws for the travelling public, as part of their Act. Yields information about fares charged for tram services in Geelong when the SEC took over from MESCo.Eight page booklet, centre stapled. Booklet has title "Electric Tramways of the State Electricity Commission of Victoria By-Law No. 1". Pages are numbered pages 1 to 7 Gives definitions, by-laws, fares and charges, special cars, workmen cars, regulations re passengers, behaviour, nuisances, smoking, dangerous goods, luggage and behaviour of crews. Gives schedule of sections for Geelong only. Details names of SEC Commissioners. Three copies held, all with some marked changes - see inscriptions. Copy 2 - stamped as received "11/3/1936". Has Government Printer number 12195. Basis was probably used in Ballarat and Geelong when the SEC took over until the 1937 edition issued though with fare schedules gazetted. See Fares in Ballarat – from Alan Bradley 11/4/2005 – appendix for Book Copy 1 - has "Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society No. 201" written in black ink on top of cover, a large blue cross on the front cover, on change noted on page 2, with authorisation details, pencil name on front cover that has been rubbed out, and pencil drawings on back cover and dirt marks. Demonstrates aspects of the way the SEC reinforced a particular rule - rule 10A - intoxication - to employees by printing a special supplementary sheet and expanding on the rule itself.Single sheet of duplicated paper, titled "Special Order 66/1" in addition to the Rules Governing Employees, dated 9/1964 (See Reg, Item 3117). Given as Rule 10A, gave instructions regarding intoxicating liquor; alcohol, drinking on the job, entering hotels etc. Prepared by LGD (Les Denmead) and signed by F. K. White as Manager. Demonstrates aspects of the Ballarat Tramways in the 1920’s and in an employee’s daily working life – eg their hours, wages, deductions etc. Has a strong association with individuals who worked for ESCo and the organisation itself.Leather bound journal titled ""Tramway Traffic Wages Book" Each sheet numbered 1 - 248 (see note below), wages requisition number, headed "Tramway Traffic Department". Printed by Berry Anderson &co, printers reorder number 16422. Book has sewn sections to cover with lining - crocodile skin style, about 6mm thick heavy cardboard covers, with leather corners and leather central binding, titled "Tramway Traffic Wages Book". Has many additional notes or sheet incorporated into book - generally glued, duty stamps, signed over by person who collected the wages, notes from crews requesting special arrangements for collection, wages receipt for Tramway Traffic and Lighting department. Also has initials of people who prepared, checked and audited the entries with dates. From 12/8/1919 to 23/12/1924. Note pages 246-47 sent as sample to Northcote and Preston tramways 12/7/1920, page 244-45 as sample to printer - 17/7/1924. Created by the ESCo (Ballarat Tramways) in order to have a record of payments made to its tramway operating staff. Each page of the volume is divided into rows and headed columns. Information appearing in each row includes the name, occupation, rate of pay, days worked and total fortnightly pay. There is provision for each row to contain details for two fortnightly pays. Occupations listed in these entries include driver, conductors and points boys, of various pay rates. Shows the tram operations with many short workings with some very detailed instructions, including running specials to schools.Demonstrates aspects of the Ballarat Tramways at the end of the operations prior to closure. Gives details of working hours, rosters for the week for crews. Shows the additional trams to the basic service on Weekdays and special instructions for picking up school children etc.Set of Table or Run sheets for the Ballarat Tramways. Significant in terms of the type of visits undertaken by people, primarily from Melbourne to visit Ballarat and take a last ride on the trams before they were closed by the SEC. Significant in being a detailed set of instructions for parking trams, hand overs, relief, responsibility for the security of the tram, including leaving the tram unattended. Regrettable incidents have happened. Issued 1965. Follows on from Reg item 261 an earlier version, but with less detailed instructions and no explanation.Two foolscap duplicated sheets titled "Special Order to Motormen (49/1)" giving instructions regarding 1) Responsibility (for trams), 2) Relief on the road, 3) Controller key, 4) Air brake handle, 5) leaving tram unattended with definition, general precautions, special precautions - such as parking the tram at Lydiard St North, parking trams at City Loop and 6) an explanation on the braking system at either end of the tram. Prepared by crews from sheets to enable them to know what service times to run, meal times, details of crew changes etc, based on their allocated shift or run from the roster.Sixty (60) page notebook with brown card board covers. Each sheet faint ruled, both sides, with some additional pages fixed in. Right hand side only has the hand written details of each SEC Ballarat runs - giving sign on times, notes, timetables, which run taken or taken by, meal times, notes with regard to special instructions, finish times notes with corrections and changes. Prepared by crews from sheets to enable them to know what service times to run, meal times, details of crew changes etc, based on their allocated shift or run from the roster.Approx 43 page notebook with brown card board covers, within a red plastic Croxley folder Each sheet faint ruled, both sides. Croxley notebook within spiral bound card covers, Lion Brand, No. SF303. Both sides of most pages has the hand written details of each SEC Ballarat runs - giving sign on times, notes, timetables, which run taken or taken by, meal times, notes with regard to special instructions, finish times notes with corrections and changes.
