Twelve page booklet or pamphlet, black and white with dark blue overprinting, titled "PCC New Streamliner", giving details of the new Presidents Conference Committee (PCC) type of tramcar. Produced by the Transit Research Corporation of New York. Outlines the story of the tramcar type, its ride, safety aspects, illumination, heating and ventilation, windows, seat, wide aisles. On the rear covers lists the USA and Canadian cities that the vehicle has been sold too. Sixteen page book or booklet printed on A4 white paper, folded to A5 with saddle bound staples, titled "Ballarat's Tramway Preservation Project". Written by Campbell Duncan for the BTPS c1978, giving details of the history of Ballarat's tramways, and a brief history of Geelong and Bendigo, the formation and operations of the BTPS and the tramcar fleet. Has 10 photographs, 1 sketch of the front of a maximum traction tramcar and a map of the BTPS location on the rear. Map drawn by G. Inglis 2.73. Note no credits for photographs. Copy of a letter and associated documents written to the Town Clerk, City of Ballaarat, dated Aug 1, 1985 seeking the support of the Council in attaining the body of the tramcar in Ballarat East. (Tram was actually obtained in December). Signed by the Secretary, Richard Gilbert. Mentions Frank Hanrahan as President for further information. Enclosed within letter is a two page note on BTPS Letter head outlining the history of the tramcar, its restoration, current condition, possible operation and value of the restoration. Attached as well is a folded drawing out an Adelaide double deck horse tram (Reference Reg. Item No. 706.1 ) and a photocopy of the builders of the first horse tram at the depot in 1887 (Reference Reg. Item No. 765 ). Has "Please Return" on top right hand corner of first sheet. Page 1 - Bendigo Battery and Steam tram motors. Page 2 - Steam trailers Page 3 - Electric trams - with information through to 1943 Page 4 - Electric trams, electric trailers (double deck), and when last used and water tank scrubber - Bush of 1908, noted as "still in action". Sign - Tramcar number "330", Melbourne & Metropolitan Tramways Board (MMTB), 1926
Used by the MMTB to indicate to conductors and inspectors, the tramcar number. Placed on the driver's bulkhead, facing into the tram with one at either end of the tram. The tram was built by Holden's Bodyworks in Adelaide, entered service in April 1926 and was disposed of in Oct. 1967.Demonstrates the method of advising crews the tramcar number internally.Set of 2 signs - galvanised rectangular sheet steel - provided with four screw holes, one in each corner painted with the numerals 3, 3, and 0. Third Annual Report of the Footscray Tramway Trust, for the year ending 30/9/1919. Lists the Trust Members, Consulting Engineers, and Secretary. Details the Trust's activities, finances, and a short review of activities noting the supply of energy from the Victorian Railways Newport Power Station. Engineering report by Christie & Gardiner detailing the construction, welding of joints, tar surfacing, substation equipment, fitting equipment to the seven ex HTT tramcars at Footscray, delivery of equipment for the tramcars, but a delay in the delivery of the trolley wire. There are four pages of accounts and one page for the Auditor's statement. Functional Object - Air Gauge, J.A. Floyd Maker Melb for and Horrocks Roxburgh Pty Ltd Melbourne, c1930
Air Gauge - duplex type for tramcars with self lapping brakes - brass case, and back, with two needles - red and black - glass front, paper pressure indication. The red needle shows the pressure in the air-tank and the black needle, the pressure in the brake cylinder. Note the red needle is on the wrong side of the stop, possibly due to transport. Would have been used on a Melbourne or MMTB tramcar. Has the name "Horrocks Roxburgh Pty Ltd Melbourne" on the base and "J.A. The caption for the photograph in this article gave the tram number as No. 16. Was made for the first depot display board on ESCo No. 12, c Nov. 1993 from newspaper cutting loaned by Alan Bradley.
