With the cessation of the Shire of Eltham in late 1994, the Society's name was revised to Eltham District Historical Society and this name first appeared with issue No. 103, July 1995. Her father was John Morrow, a farmer. She married Samuel Haylock Poulter in 1881 at Heidelberg. Samuel was born in 1853, son of William Poulter Seven children were born to Samuel an Margaret. Margaret, aged 38, died on 02/08/1896 seven weeks after the birth of Edith May, from complications of the birth. She was buried at Eltham by rites of the Church of England. This portrait is presented to the Greensborough Historical Society at the request of Mrs Barbara Lenne (nee Cooke) (1935-2017), great grand daughter of Margaret Morrow and Samuel Poulter.Large timber-framed photograph. The home wasa built about 1840 by Jame Willis Mayger from bricks hand-made nearby. It was later passed to the Partington family and when this photo was taken the building was deserted. Vandals and finally a bushfire destroyed Willis Vale in the 1950s." It details the origin of street names in the surrounding area and includes biographical information on those after whom the streets were named. Updated December 2016.The Watsonia Barracks has been in use since WW2 and is today home to the Defence Force School of Signals. It was built on the property formerly owned by Ainslie Meares.
