Bendigo Advertiser ''The way we were'' from 2000. Lucrative: the extended Hustlers Company's quartz mining claim, featuring the office, battery house and main shaft in 1875. The claim had six shafts with 144,500 tonnes of quartz mined, yielding 188,000 ounces of gold. The shaft included 4,000 feet of sinking and 16 crosscuts, giving a total of 12,000 feet in length.
