The Heidelberg School Artists' Trail extends from Heidelberg through Eltham and Warrandyte and to the Dandenongs. It features signs depicting paintings of artists in the location in which they were painted. Transcription of sign: Jane Price is best known for her small moody impressionistic landscapes, many of which depict the rising moon and capture the softness of the evening twilight. In 1889, she shared a studio in Grosvenor Chambers, Collins Street east, Melbourne, with fellow Heidelberg School artists, Clara Southern and Jane Sutherland. She was also a close friend of Tom Roberts and Frederick McCubbin. Around the time of the First World War, and for several years after, she rented a ‘log cabin’ in Diamond Creek, and this was situated close to ‘The Shack’, the studio and home, of May Vale. In October 1996 the viewing platform was opened. It is situated near Lenister Farm on the Diamond Creek trail. It was a joint project involving Nillumbik Shire Council, Skill Seekers Inc., Department of Natural resources and Environment and Department of Employment, Education, Training and Youth Affairs. The platform was officially opened by Don Cordell Chairman of Commissioners. The structure was mainly wooden and included an undercover element with slides and areas to climb. It was destroyed by fire in the early hours of 16 December 2017. Sensory Integration Invention A, by Cathy Smith public art sculpture, commissioned by Nillumbik Shire Council, in Fergusons Paddock,12 Arthurs Creek Road Hurstbridge was officially unveiled in 1999. Councillors Penny Mullinar and Margaret Jennings in attendance. "Smith's work has strong references to humans' sensory and practical relationship with the land through the built environment. Wind entering the structure's tubing operates like a flute, generating sounds such as bird calls that resonate into the surrounding wetland areas." AGIdeas was a student design conference held from annually from 1991, for at least 20 years. (Alliance Graphique Internationale AGI). The project outcome "is the combined impact of eighteen individuals reflecting upon their personal design philosophy and the space they occupy." The students determined that the University of Ballarat's course was special due to its "unique learning and teaching environment", all year levels "interspersed throughout the open-plan workspace" at individual workstations with twenty-four hour, seven day access to the space (at Camp Street Campus, Ballarat).
