Demonstrates aspects of the way the SEC reinforced a particular rule - rule 10A - intoxication - to employees by printing a special supplementary sheet and expanding on the rule itself.Single sheet of duplicated paper, titled "Special Order 66/1" in addition to the Rules Governing Employees, dated 9/1964 (See Reg, Item 3117). Given as Rule 10A, gave instructions regarding intoxicating liquor; alcohol, drinking on the job, entering hotels etc. Prepared by LGD (Les Denmead) and signed by F. K. White as Manager. Copy 1 - held in storage location as shown. Copy 2 - taped within item 3117. Copy 3 - from Ray Hall of Ararat -added 28-07-2006. Notebook, green cloth covered, with end papers, five sections ruled sheets sewn fitted with a black cotton tape strap. On side of notebook, in the same cloth, a holder for a short pencil has been provided. On inside end paper, has a sticker of the "The Commercial Notebook", discount table. In pencil is "J.H. Prisk / 516 Drummond / Ballarat" On first pages inside are details of change float, tickets sold, type , returns commencing "Monday 15/12" (1913) through to March 10 (1914), then many pages with monetary calculations, then sketches of tramcar lighting circuits, noes on cabling, roses, switches, current densities, and conduits lengths etc. Last page in notebook has notes re times of cards ex Sheds and Sebastopol and working hours on various runs. Badge - Union badge, APFX, late 1930's?
Has a strong association with John Prisk, ESCo tram driver of the 1910's and demonstrates the importance of being a union member at the time and the badge provided by the unionAustralian Tramway Employees Association (Tramways Union) badge. Badge made on a brass or metal backing with a gold (9ct) plating with words "Australian Tramway Employees Association" on outer edge of badge with a royal blue enamel background. In centre of badge has the Australian coat of arms with a railway type spoke wheel above the logo and underneath the coat of arms the words "Federated Australia" in a banner. Has a steel ring through a hole in the top of the badge. On back of badge has stamped into the badge "John Prisk / Member / Since 1912". Ticket printed on 200 gsm white cardboard featuring ESCO opening postcard ticket (Reg. Item 608) for the BTM's celebration of 100 years of Electric Trams on 25/9/2005. Ticket No. 0001. Eight hundred were printed. On the front of the ticket has spaces for fare type and charge, electric tram and horse tram and on rear has BTM logo, validity date, purpose, ESCo postcard ticket history. Printed colour postcard titled "City Hall and Shoppers Square Ballarat". Has an inbound tram showing the Grenville St sign on the rear, and one of the crossbench cars loading passengers outside the Town Hall. Shows Snows building, people in the median strip - busy holiday or a Sunday. Images of the front and back of the card and a close-up of the two trams in the bottom left-hand corner. Note the lamp or coloured destination sign on the roof of the inbound tram. On the rear, the postcard has been divided into two with the words "Post Card" and "Printed in Great Britain" on the top, a "Valentine Series" on the side. Addressed to Miss J Johnstone, 30 Weighbridge St, Flemington, and with the words "Dear Jeannie, / How do you like this one. / Maggie".
