Programme, Melbourne Legacy, Junior Legatees present their Annual Demonstration 1954, 1954
Programme of a Legacy Demonstration at the Melbourne Town Hall in October 1954. Throughout the year Melbourne Legacy provided classes for Junior Legatees such as dancing, gymnastics and eurythmics, the Demonstration was an annual event to showcase their skills. Melbourne Legacy conducted Annual Demonstrations / Parades from 1928 through to 1979, usually held at Melbourne Town Hall or Olympic Pool Stadium. The beautiful costumes were made by members of the Junior Legacy Mothers' Club and the Melbourne Legacy Wives' Association. The day is sometimes referred to as Widows' Sunday or Pilgrimage to the Shrine. It was held on Sunday 26th August 2000. Prior to 'The Years Between' a luncheon was held to discuss the possibility of recording recollections of RVIB by some of its older attendees. This discussion was recorded and preserved, as the group discusses the various events and themes the history could cover.
