Metal toe bindings clipped onto specially made boots with 3 holes at their toe on the sole enabling the cross country skier to be attached to the skis and to be able to lift their heel when skiing on flat ground.These bindings were used by skiers on the Bogong High Plains.Blue and white metal toe ski bindings with white toe clip and 3 blunt 'nails' sticking up at the front to enable a boot with 3 holes in the sole to fit on them. Two holes in the steel enable it to be fitted onto the ski. First world war experiences written and published in booklet form entitled "My Brother" by Leo Blanchard HANLY - Private 1702 served the 3 Light Horse Field Ambulance. Embarked on 15.7.1915 and returned on 2.1.1919. Leo wrote the book about his brother Theodore Hanly. Theodore and another brother, Joseph Dillon also served in the 3 LH Field Ambulance alongside Leo. These stoneware jugs and bowl had been perennially popular in homes for many years and are still in homes today.These jugs are kept as mementos of household items popular in the past. One jug (VC001906.3) appears to have come from Scotland in the mid 19th century and may have belonged to a member of a McGregor family.These are four brown earthenware jugs and one small brown bowl. .1 This jug has filter holes near the top of the rim and a mottled pattern on the lower part of the body of the jug with an ornamental pattern separating this mottled section from the smooth upper half. .2 This jug has a light brown lower section (both body and handle) and a darker reddish-brown upper section .3 This jug is dark brown with lighter shadings at the top section. Apothecaries weights were historically used by physicians and pharmacists for the assembling of medical recipes (20 grains = 1 scruple; 3 scruples = 1 dram (drachm); 8 drams = 1 troy ounce). The coin weights were used up until about the 1940s. This coin is a stater, a 2 gram coin. The symbol for the dram was the number 3 and the letters ‘ij’ are equivalent to the Roman numerals 11 meaning two. The coin has the date March 16, 1847, the date of the registration of the coin.This coin has no known local provenance but a two-dram coin such as this would have been used by doctors and pharmacists in the Warrnambool district from the 1840s to the 1940s approximately. It will be useful for display.This brass circular weight with raised engraving has an annulus of very small dots close to the rim on the obverse and reverse sides.
