... Tickets ...Set of four brass cast, chrome plated, machined, device or ticket punches used to cancel or punch paper tickets when purchased. Placed a hole in the ticket. Spring loaded, consists of two main parts with a pin & spring in addition. . Some of the chrome plating has been worn off. There are no manufacturer markings on the punches. .1 - number P1554 - punches a four pointed hole - would have been used at Preston Depot. .2 - number 1079, punches a hole in the shape of a club as on a card game. .3 - number 1113, punches a four pointed hole. .4 - number 190, punches a heart shaped hole. Bob (Herman) Hymans (a former member of the Royal Netherlands Navy) was born in Bloemendaal, Holland on 30th September 1922. During World War II he fought against the Japanese in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) and was imprisoned in Changi and on the Burma Railway. After gaining qualifications as a Ski Instructor, Bob arrived in Falls Creek in July 1950. Working as an Instructor and Supervisor at Bogong Lodge, Bob decided his future was in accommodation. He was successful in negotiating an indenture for land from the State Electricity Commission (SEC). It took Bob two years to build his Grand Coeur Chalet but, tragically, it was burned down in August 1961. Bob also built the first Chairlift in Australia. This was a single chairlift and the structure was built from wooden electricity poles. He was constantly full of new ideas and proposals for the village. Bob Hymans die on 7th July 2007. This is a set of 23 photographs of cartographic, aero-triangulation and lithographic equipment, and personnel at the Army Survey Regiment, Fortuna, Bendigo circa 1979. Photos .8P to .23P were taken in Lithographic Squadron’s printing, Camera, proofing rooms and external buildings. Cartographic Squadron’s SGT Jim McDonald operated the Editwriter type setting machine, as shown in photo .2P for a couple years in a room on the top floor of Fortuna Villa. Charity organisation, Ladies' Harbour Lights Guild, was formed within The Missions to Seamen Institute to provide a home away from home, for visiting seamen. This paper illustrates the rules for branch secretaries as well as the membership types at the bottom. This paper holds historical significance at a local level because it illustrates the Ladies' Harbour Lights' Guild organization and membership types that were essential to for the success of the charity. The Hutchinson Caravan Dolly was a device for stopping the rear of a towing vehicle from being drawn down by the weight of the caravan and having a detrimental effect on the steering of the vehicle and vision of the driver.The Hutchinson Caravan Dolly was adapted from a towing dolly used for cars with damaged wheels and manufactured in Greensborough in the 1950's and 1960's. Contents: Ely family tree Frederick Ely was born in Cowlinge Suffolk, in 1838. (His parents were George Ely b1793 and Sarah Poulter b1792, both born in Cowlinge. Frederick came to Australia on the ship 'Ocean Monarch' in 1856 with (most likely) his brother George, aged 34, his wife Elizabeth Piper, aged 22, and daughters Elizabeth, aged 2, and Harriet, aged 1. George and his family settled in the Harcourt area of Victoria, as did his brothers William and Henry. In 1857, Henry, his wife Mary Anne (Parker) and a daughter came to Australia, and settled in Greensborough for a short time, then moved to Harcourt, taking a large amount of apple tree cuttings and plants from Greensborough, where he, brother William, William Eagle, a childhood friend from Cowlinge, and a Nathan Vick, planted and stated apple orchids.History of the origins of this Greensborough family.20-page plastic binder, spiral bound, clear cover.
