Gold coloured silk tablecloth with green braid edging and mauve silk fringing. It is heavily embroidered with various flags, crowns and flowers relating to the Gallipoli campaign. Possibly made in Eygpt. The flags featured are Australia, France, United Kingdom, Egypt, Japan, Italy, Belgium and Russia. Some fraying along folds. The RAN Bridging Train (RANBT) was a naval reserves unit trained to provided engineering support such as assembling pontoons, temporary jetties and unloading stores. Souvenir Guidebook, Aleppo and its Environs
A pocket size booklet with a series of articles about Aleppo, Syria. This booklet was sent to an Australian family by a local citizen befriended by an Australia soldier serving in Syria during World War 2. The book inner cover is marked "To Val with best wishes from Bert?? Aleppo 1-2-47". Souvenir Handkerchief
Cloth handkerchief sent to family in Australia by Noel Louis Blundell, a 2nd AIF serviceman in Syria during World War 2. The handkerchief is maroon in colour and made from a square piece of silk-like cloth. The edges of the cloth have been cut in decorative pattern. The cloth has been decorated with a paint like material on one side which is gold in colour and contains some golden glitter particles.The handkerchief is inscribed around the perimeter with the following words "MEMORY OF SYRIA" and "SOUVENIR D'SYRIE". In one corner of the square there is a bird (dove?) holding a flag as it is flying over another inscription "SOUVENIR D'SYRIE". Above the flag are 17 stars. Document, Souvenir of Sports and Tournaments
Folded printed paper souvenir of a sports tournament held aboard the HMAT ORSOVA (A67) whilst transporting Australian troops from Fremantle to Suez in April 1916. The document records the winning participants and results of a variety of sporting events held on Wednesday, March 22nd, Wednesday, March 29th and Wednesday, April 5th. There are also results of a boxing competition. The events concluded on Friday, 7th April, 1916. this is damaged having torn along fold lines in the paper.This souvenir was printed at sea aboard the HMAT ORSOVA. United States Army standard issue infantry heavyweight webbing waist belt as worn in World War 1. This is an example of a 'trophy' belt, complete with a souvenir collection of metal insignia, badges and buttons which are attached to the belt. The belt has brass fittings however the original buckle is missing. There are a total of 83 various allied military insignia, badges and uniform buttons from the World War 1 era, 56 metal insignia and badges and 27 metal buttons which are mostly of Australian, New Zealand, Canadian or British origin. Belt manufactured by M W & S Limited of England in 1915.The reverse side of the belt is stamped "M W & S LTD., 1915" and has an "L" stamp and the Defence Department "/|\". The belt reverse also has the following name in black handwriting "A Paxino 9781 2211". Note A Paxino was associated with Frankston RSL Sub Branch for many years. -

Munition, Trench Art
A set of two spent ammunition rounds complete with projectile, which are souvenirs of World War 1. These are from the 1 inch Nordenfelt machine gun, the projectiles are made from solid steel with a brass jacket, have an exposed steel tip and have a groove near the base. Both the brass cartridge case and the projectile are highly polished and have been chromed (?). These are examples of trench art having been engraved with floral patterns and the words "to Fred from NL". These items were owned by Frederic Harley MM, s/n 910, a WW1 Artillery Gunner in the 36th Australian Heavy Artillery Group who served in France. He enlisted in Frankston and lived in Frankston after returning to Australia. These tankards are embellished with a 75th anniversary logo and details of the Frankston Returned & Services League of Australia Sub Branch in gold leaf on the external surface.These tankards have the following inscription in gold leaf : "75 Anniversary 1920 - 1995" and the words "FRANKSTON SUB BRANCH CHARTERED JANUARY1st 1920" encircling a representation of the Returned & Services League of Australia badge. -

A trophy in the form of a small replica of an Australian Army 'slouch hat' mounted on a circular stand. The 'slouch hat' is silver plated, has a turned brim on the left hand side and has a 'rising sun' hat badge. The circular stand is made of a light gauge steel which has been pressed in the form of an inverted dish and is coloured with a mid brown finish. There is a silver plated label attached to the dish which has been engraved indicating that this item was originally a trophy (origin unknown). The label has the following engraved inscription "R.
