Photograph of some 94 traffic staff in front of the Malvern Depot, possibly near the time of the MMTB absorption of the PMTT. The employees are wearing two different styles of uniforms (63 dark and 31 light) all with caps. Shows the roller doors at the top of the depot and the overhead trolley mechanism that allowed the doors to close and bypass the trolley wire. There are four trams behind the men - each showing a different destination - Windsor, Esplanade, Mont Albert and Burke Road. The three cars on the right appear to be C class cars. Set of three notices regarding the introduction of Decimal Currency that took place on 14/2/1966 1 - Notice No. 3 dated 6/9/1965 regarding how revenue pay-in would be made and coins counted. Has a sample pay-in form showing the methods. Report - original typed copy - six foolscap sheets bound within a brown card folder, stapled, with adhesive tape binding on the outside. Titled "Speed Tests - PCC Type Car No. 980 - June 1950", marked "Chairman's Copy", dated 17 July 1950, prepared by the MMTB Testing Department, Report No. S21/1/2. Gives details of testing done to determine the coasting characteristics of the tram, with crush, seated or no load. Tested in Miller St, Preston. Also reports on the maximum speed compared to car 888, and scheduled speed. Has appendices with the actual data. Conclusion on page 3 - that 980 would show an improvement of about 5% in schedule speed of SW6 cars. Provides a synopsis of the report, purpose of investigation, design, operational history, time in workshops, maintenance program, schedule speeds, riding qualities, has appendices with design modification, list of time in workshops, PCC tramcars maintenance program, workshops maintenance of ten typical trams, MMTB Tramcar Schedule speeds.
