Stand, Tripod, Puddefoot Bowers & Simonett Limited, ca 1940
A portable, three legged stand in the form of a tripod, used by Australian and British Commonwealth military forces for mounting the standard issue signaling lamp and heliograph. The three collapsible, metal tipped, wooden legs are joined by hinge fittings to a brass collar with a threaded mount at one end (the head). The mounting thread is approximately 38mm diameter and fitted with a protective cap which can be removed for use, the cap being retained by a length of light chain. The stand is complete with a leather and webbing carrying strap attached to the head fitting of the stand with a leather sleeve at the other end which fits over the free end of the legs when folded.The brass collar and mount is stamped : "STAND LAMP OR HELIO A MKlll" and has the manufacturer "PUDDEFOOT, BOWERS & SIMONETT LTD, LONDON, 1940". Dress Jacket Army Reserve, Fletcher Jones & Staff, 1998
This jacket is part of the dress uniform of a Major in the Army Reserve. Major Bernard Farley who owned this jacket wore it to official functions in the Mess dining room. He served in this capacity from 1998-2001.Bernard also served in the RAAF for a number of years.This jacket has significance as it is typical of dress requirements which were worn to official Army functions.Short white jacket with wide front lapels epaulets at the shoulders and a small V shaped downward peak at the back. The sleeves have a stitched over section at the cuff with a point in line with the shoulder. On each epaulet from the collar edge side there is a brass coloured button with the Rising Sun in low relief and on the lower edge of the epaulet a brass coloured crown with red nsert and a circular shaped badge with the word Australia. Doll NA5163 and another dress NA5166.Doll, whose name was Janet was given to Rosalie Schwerkolt Whalen as a child in 1945 with a lemon voile dress and matching bonnet and a patterned voile dress.Lemon coloured doll's bonnet and match lemon coloured doll's dress.
