Would have been used by staff and students of electrical Engineering at the School of Mines, Lydiard St. campus up until the start of the Mount Helen campus E building third floor. The meter would have had limited use in classes until 2009. This Wattmeter became part of the historical collection in 2011 after the movement of Engineering out of the E building. In working condition and a good example of early 20th century electrical instruments.A polished natural timber case with partial flip top lid and leather carry handle, housing a single phase AC Wattmeter, rated at 170 volts , 30 amps Scale 0 to 5 kilowatt. Used by healthcare staff in the hospital setting to prepare ECG's for Medical review. Electrical Cardiac Graph data was recorded from the patient in long paper strips. The ECG trimmer was used to trim these strips into individual lead recordings and reconfigured on one page. The Blackburn High School opened on 1st February 1956 with 128 Form 1 pupils and a staff of 8. The 20-acre site on the corner of Williams and Springvale road was surrounded by orchards and pine trees. The trees inspired the school motto: ' Ad licem crescimus' - 'We are growing towards the light'. The first headmaster was Mr V. Percy. The British Empire & Commonwealth Games took place at the Dalkeith Bowling Club in Perth, Western Australia from 19 November until 1 December 1962. The bowls competition started several days before the official opening of the Commonwealth Games. The published list of representatives does not include William Forrest Passmore so it is assumed that he was an emergency or one of the support staff.Green wool blazer owned by William Forrest Passmore of Ascot Vale (1901-1980). The pocket is embroidered with the Australian Coat of Arms, underneath which is embroidered the image of a lawn bowl and the date 1962. The owners name is sewn at the back of neck. The PMG / Telecom / Telstra tower was built in 1961-1963 as a relay station to support television and radio links between city and regional broadcasting stations. The tower itself was 45 m in height with a 2 storey building for equipment and staff surrounded by garden. From the beginning it was opposed by local residents. The location is said to be the second highest site in Melbourne, sometimes described as Delaney's Hill.Two A3 photocopied sheets of a map showing part of Surrey Hills, roughly between Windsor Crescent and Belmont Street (north / south) and Standard Avenue and Balmoral Crescent (east / west). The map shows contour lines and house sites, 16 of which are numbered. One sheet has been inscribed in top RH corner with notes regarding the significance of the numbers."Contour map of potential sites / for the telecommunications tower which / was eventually sited at 2. / Jock Campbell OBE was our neighbour / at 4 Theodore St when we moved into / the area in 1984.
