The first Lildale Show Girl competition was held in 1957 as part if the annual Lilydale Show. The Lilydale Shoe had stopped during the war years and reformed in 1954. The show was restarted by John Plant and Lloyd Gill ( owners of the Lilydale Express) Black and white photograph of the five women who won the highest places in the First Lilydale Show Girl competition in 1957. The winner of the competition, Robyn Hoyland is pictured centre, second prize, Susan Mandel is pictured to the far right, third place is Faye Hart, who is standing second from from right. This pot is part of a three piece condiment set which has a Guernsey coat of arms insignia badge attached. See entry 3531 for Salt and Pepper Shakers in this set. It was used in the 1900's and was originally owned by Edward Lloyd Mauger.A small vintage chrome plated mustard pot with a basket weave outer container and a cobalt blue glass insert to hold the mustard. There is no lid or spoon. On one side is attached a blue, red and gold with three lions Guernsey coat of Arms badge.'Guernsey' is stamped on the badge. A regular event for the widows was a Christmas concert at the Melbourne Town Hall. The performers were the RAAF Central Band. Held in December each year. The photos from 1995 show President Millie presenting flowers to Inez Bruce, Gwen Gunn and Irene Noll. Usually the concert was the time the Widows Clubs presented Legacy with funds raised through their fundraising each year - in this case $21,000 - and the president acknowledges with flowers. The article mentions that over 1,800 widows came together for the concert despite the rain and bad weather. The RAAF Central Band was conducted by Sq. Ldr.
