Yields information about the Ballarat Tramway services and timetables and the restoration to 20 mins services in 1947.Page of three newspaper clippings from The Courier, pasted to a single foolscap lined page. 1 - "Idleness to End", 7/6/1947, with a photo of five parked trams (26 and 23 identified) in the city loop, with a caption comment about the return to 20 min services from Monday. 2 - "Trams to Return to 20 Minutes Service" - 7 June 1947, story about the return to 20 min services during the off peak had been approved - followed representations, such as National Council of Women. 3 - SEC Public Notice, advising that additional trams will be operated on 7/3/1954 and 8/3/1954. The garment was a sealed sample 26 feb 1962. It is unknown when the dress was replaced. It is a representative example of this type of uniform in the period.The dress is in excellent condition.Light green,short sleeves.410mm shoulder to shoulder.1018mm top of collar to bottom of dress.320 mm wide waist.25mm sleeve from shoulder top to sleeve end. Sleeve cuff 4 cm wide.Two pockets on front, each set 12 cmm below waist and 9 mm from edge of centre opening.bottom of pocket is 10 cm from edge of centre opening.The dress opens at front with 8 button holes (24mm) openings,with a neck button loop(2cm). Two epaulettes 5cmm x 11 cm(long). The pockets have a sewn flap 2cm long from pocket top and 5 cm (at apex) from top of pocket.Two loops (5cm high) at each side of dress.A loop for hanging dress is inside collar at rear.Three press studs at front to fasten dress.Attached certificate in plastic seal. “Department of Army - inspection service/ SFC 8.3.13. ... of the Women’s Royal Naval Service, Woman Army Auxiliary Corps, Women’s..., such as nurses, members of the Women’s Royal Naval Service, Woman Army ...The Victory Medal (also called the Inter Allied Victory Medal) is a bronze medal that was awarded to all who received the 1914 Star or 1914-15 Star and, with certain exceptions, to those who received the British War Medal. It was never awarded alone. These three medals were sometimes irreverently referred to as Pip, Squeak and Wilfred. The medal of which the basic design and ribbon was adopted by Belgium, Brazil, Cuba, Czechoslovakia, France Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Siam, Union of South Africa and the USA in accordance with the decision as taken at the lnter-Allied Peace Conference at Versailles but in a particular form of a historic Greek monument as determined by each nation, with the exception of the nations of the far east who issued the medal but with a different design. Eligibility for this award consisted of having been mobilized in any of the fighting services and having served in any of the theatres of operations, or at sea, between midnight 4th/5th August, 1914, and midnight, 11th/12th November, 1918. Women who served in any of the various organizations in a theatre of operations were eligible, such as nurses, members of the Women’s Royal Naval Service, Woman Army Auxiliary Corps, Women’s Royal Air Force, canteen staff and members of the many charitable services.Original medals issued to the Hoffman family post WWI and donated to the Beechworth RSL Sub Branch by his sister Miss Anna Hoffman with the Hoffman Family collection.British War Medal 1914 -1920 with ribbon and Victory Medal with ribbon court mounted and the recipients name inscribed on the rim. Launch of Eureka Reminiscences, a publication by Ballarat Heritage Services. This book, a collection of memories about Eureka, was researched, created and printed by Ballarat Heritage Services. On the 50th anniversary of Eureka in 1904, men and women wrote about their experiences during the Eureka Rebellion on 3 December 1854.
