Black and white photograph of Bendigo track cleaner/sprinkler and ESCo No. 9 at the Pall Mall tram stop just to the south of the Fountain at Charing Cross. ESCo 9 has been modified (See Kings Bendigo Tramways p54). Sprinkler car has trolley pole facing Golden Square, as has No. 9. Pole by the trams have signs "ALL CARS STOP HERE" and a "NO ROAD" sign. A4 sheet of laminated paper prepared 1992, October, for a front door sign at the Museum's depot. Printed on a laser printer, laminated and then punched with four holes for mounting. Has become water stained and weaken with water coming in through the holes. Has telephone numbers of six digits prior to eight digit numbers being used also old organisational name. Original c 1914 (see below), facsimile copy - re-published 1972. Original features photos of Ballarat City and Town, its buildings, parks and the various industries and organisations that were in Ballarat at the time of publication, including ESCo. Many photos features ESCo trams. Photos sepia toned. Has some red colour block printing on the front cover and rear, for Star Oil Engines. On inside back cover is a map with the places of interest and tram route map, marked in red. Pages are un-numbered. Original published by Ballarat East Town Council and Ballaarat City Council. On cover has number stamped in black in, "No. 87" (assume facsimile copy No.). Photos with publication show tram No. 21, built 1913 and ESCo photo page shows Mr. Pringle as Manager. Mr Pringle became manager in January 1911, As there is no photos of the "Avenue of Honour", or other mention of the first world war, assume original published about 1913 or 1914. Black and white photograph of the intersection of Sturt and Lydiard Sts from the Post Office, looking towards Ballarat Town Hall, c1910. In foreground of photograph is a ESCo tram, without windscreens hauling a horse tram (east bound) and on the other side of Sturt St. a single ESCo tram. Many people walking the street. On top of photograph is the words "Town Hall and Sturt Street, Balla", the rest of the words having been cropped out. The trailer is one of the seven window horse trams. Black & White Photograph of one of the ESCo Toastracks being assembled in the Exhibition Buildings in Grenville St., north of the Alfred Hall in 1905. The other open Toastrack or Summer tramcar is behind this tram, with other California Combination cars on the sides. The trams have yet to be fitted with wheels or equipment, including headlights. Note the front dash panel has been painted, but no headlight opening or cut out. The print for this photograph made from a copy negative of page 454 of the Australasian, August 19, 1905 in 1993. Print includes caption (all in caps) "Summer Traffic Car: to be used in trips to and from the Gardens. It is without sides, and has reversible backs. Ballarat Electric Tram Service". See Reg.
