Photograph of Bendigo Tram No 3 at the tram depot, with the destination of Depot. Tram in the ESCo Red and Cream colour scheme with the tram number on the side of the vehicle. The tram commenced life with the Hawthorn Tramway Trust as their No. 8. Became No. 114 when the MMTB took over, sold to the SEC in 1931 and became Bendigo No. 3. It was donated to the AETA in 1956 and subsequently rebuilt as HTT 8. The tram is on display at the Melbourne Tram Museum Hawthorn. See reference for further details. A5 sized sheet of paper printed by photocopying, titled "Welcome Aboard the Cable Tram" giving details of the Melbourne cable tram set operated by the Museum during the 1987 Begonia Festival. Gives details of Grip car 593 (built new by Newton Williams) and trailer 171 (reconstructed by Darryl Hawksworth). Also gives general information about Melbourne cable trams and the Ballarat Vintage Tramway, in particular the horse tram. On bottom of sheet has a advertisement for the "Swiss Mountain Hotel", at the time operated by Darryl Hawksworth. Photo taken at Preston Workshops, shows interior fit out at the time of construction, with central strap hangers (leather), light fittings. Nine Page photocopy of a Westinghouse manual for Westinghouse S6-A and S6-B Compressor Governors (often known as Beatle Back type). Includes cross sectional diagrams of both compressors, photographs, connection diagrams, and detailed descriptions. The descriptions include notes on the compressor, switch portion, regulating portion of the device, regulation and adjustments, setting of cutouts, installation and maintenance. Originally prepared by Westinghouse, Wilmarding PA, USA, 20/9/1916. Retyped by MMTB 5/1955 and provided to Warren Doubleday from Preston Workshops c1980.
