All reports except the last one comprise a two sheet printed or typeset report giving notice of meeting, directors report, statement of assets and liabilities, share structure and profit and loss account. The last report 9/1902 is typed, and lists assets and credits only on the profit and loss account. Meetings were held at Craig's Hotel, Lydiard St. The Directors report from 9/1900 note the forthcoming sale of the company to the British Insulated Wire Company Limited and the problems of finalising the sale. Three page list of the shareholders, giving number of shares held, Surname, Christian Name, Address, Occupation in alphabetical order. List totals 23000 shares, with 17038 held by the contractor for the construction. 2809.2 - Eight page photocopy of a handwritten list of the shareholders at 21/4/1903. Has a cover sheet of the Victorian Registrar General dated 11/6/2003. Second page gives details of share holdings, (32,000 in total), the amount paid on each share, calls unpaid, forfeited shares. Yields information about Ballarat and Sturt St c1907 following the information of trams.Printed colour postcard of Ballarat electric tram leaving the Grenville St. terminus, at the bottom end of Sturt St terminus with an early motor bus or taxi in front of the tram crossing to the south side of Sturt St. Has buildings on both sides of Sturt St. in photograph, with some other horse drawn vehicles and many pedestrians. Note, none of the buildings have names shown on them - have been printed out. Photo taken soon after opening, no roof mounted destination boxes. On rear are places for correspondences stamp, address and manufacturers' name in a fancy motif "WTP". Printed black and white postcard of a Ballarat horse tram arriving at the Grenville St. terminus, at the bottom end of Sturt St terminus. Has buildings on both sides of Sturt St. in photograph, with some other horse drawn vehicles and a few pedestrians. In the photo are Suttons building, and business near Grenville St. of an Ironmonger and S. Laurens? On the front of the card is written a short message: - "Mother and self arrived safely in Ballarat. Train did not get in till ten o'clock. Love to all, thank for kindness. Jessie Frewin. On rear is places for correspondences stamp, address. On left hand edge is "H. J. Photo appears to be taken soon after the opening of the electric trams, as the tramway is well paved compared to the rest of the street which shows vehicle tracks etc. For similar images see Reg. items 834, 838, 2151 and 8998. Note the roof of a small horse-drawn vehicle crossing in the center foreground of the photograph - this vehicle is shown in detail in other images. Brown leather covers, over heavy board, tied together with a black shoe lace, light grey paper inside covers holding some 63 sheets of card on which photos have been mounted using photo corners of various types, captions in blue or black ink. Has some 392 black and white photographs including some postcards. Has photos of various locations and lines within Adelaide, includes works trams, buses, trolley buses, arranged by tramcar class in some places. Includes horse trams at Goolwa and Victor Harbor, Port Adelaide steam tram. Album Scanned Dec. 2019 prior to forward 7 packets of negatives to the collection of the AETM via John Radcliffe. Demonstrates aspects of the development of the Bendigo tramways by ESCo prior to undertaking the Ballarat system. Yields information about Charing Cross soon after the electric tramway was opened.Black and White postcard, early 1900's view of Charing Cross, Bendigo looking towards the north, Pall Mall. Has three tram cars in the view, the fountain, centre poles, horse drawn cabs and vehicles, a poppet head and building on the east side of the Pall Mall. Divided back postcard with areas for message, address, and the stamp. Has "67)" in the top left hand corner of the back of the card, a circled "13" crossed out, "early 1900's" in ink. ... of Ballarat tramway operation with horse tram trailers, Sturt St ...Demonstrates aspects of Ballarat tramway operation with horse tram trailers, Sturt St buildings, yields information about the appearance of Ballarat in colour.Colour postcard, presented within a wooden framed image of an ESCo tram just past the intersection of Doveton St. and Sturt St. travelling east along the north side of Sturt. Street towing a heavily laden horse tram as a trailer. Photo appears to be taken soon after opening of the electric trams, as the tram does not have any destination box above the driver. Possibly summer 1905/1906. Numerous people in the street, some horse drawn vehicles in the photograph. Shows buildings along the south side of Sturt St. and part of the verandah of the building at the NE corner of Doveton St. For a list and description of the same base image see Archives file - "Notes on ESCo Tram towing a heavily loaded trailer" On rear is "Made in Germany", areas for correspond, a Victoria one penny postage stamp, an din the bottom right hand corner, "09 3851" The card has been addressed to a Miss Seymour "Larramea", Mulwala NSW. Has a handwritten note to her sister (signed Flo?) about a trip arrangements to Melbourne and other details. Date 13 April, but year not apparent. The photograph shows the northeast corner of Sturt and Lydiard Streets, the post office, tram track and one tram partially obscured. Has many people in the view and some horse-drawn vehicles. Titled "Lydiard Street and Post Office Ballarat, Victoria". On the rear of the card in light blue ink, divided back, with spaces for messages, addresses and stamps. Produced by "WTP", printed in Germany and has the number "124187" in the bottom right-hand corner. The system was offered to the City of Ballarat when the tramway operations were being tendered. Shows two open top double decker electric trams, the centre conduit, advertising Holdens Dining Rooms and the three story buildings in the background and a horse drawn coaches.In ink on rear. "16a" and "In 1885 Holroyd Smith of the United Kingdom sent a tender to Ballarat to construct a conduit tramway in that city, similar to the one he had constructed in Blackpool United Kingdom in the same year.
