Showing maximum traction bogie car no. 25 of the S.E.C. Bendigo system rumbles over the stone pavement of Mitchell Street bound for the Borough of Eaglehawk. Built in 1917 for the Hawthorn Tramways Trust, the car saw service in Melbourne until 1947 when it was purchased by the S.E.C. 2225.1 Title sheet to the "Rolling stock roster" section of a scrap book titled "Ballarat Tramways", dated 1971. Lettered in blue ball point pen and underlined in red. 2225.2 - Section titled "Single Tramcar' (Single truck trams) and detailing the use, number and where the tram was taken to, or disposed to from Ballarat following closure. Lists 16 tramcars. Trams 31 and 32 were shown as SEC Creswick Road. 31 - later to (Kaniva > Haddon > USA). Lettered in blue ink or pencil with red lining. 32 - Maryborough, then to BTM Collection. 2225.3 - Section titled "Bogie Tramcar' and detailing the use, number and where the tram was taken to, or disposed to from Ballarat following closure. Advertisements for "Twin Lakes" and 50/50 dancing at the Civic Hall are on the front panel of the tram. Tram has tiger stripes but not the white dash under the lights. Behind No. 32 is a bogie tram. Pamphlet, Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society (BTPS), "Don't forget what a tram looks like!", early 1970's
Yields information about early publicity methods and pamphlets of the Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society and the spelling of Ballarat with double a's, which was not adopted by the BTPS organisation.Green sheet printed as an early pamphlet for the Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society, titled "Don't forget what a tram looks like!" Printed soon after Society established. Gives address of BTPS. Note highly distributed due to the spelling of the word "Ballarat" with two "a's" - Ballaarat. Has a sketch of a bogie tram on the pamphlet. Was used as note paper in the depot for many years. Object 3656 was found with item 3655 - possibly recording who donated item 3655 originally - C. H. Yields information about one of the first two maximum traction bogie trams in Ballarat in October 1945 after it had been repainted for use in Ballarat by the SEC and a little photographed single truck tram No. 24. Set of six colour slides, possibly taken on Saturday 4 September 1972, prior to the closure of the Mt Pleasant line the following day. 1 - Two single truckers at Sturt and Lydiard Streets with many motor cars. Town Hall in the background. 2 - Tram 12 (Sebastopol) picking up passengers at the stop just before the tram turned the corner into Sturt St. Driver running a one-man tram.
