Slide depicts the huts and tents at the diggings in which business was conducted. This view you can see there are still quiet a number of trees in the surrounding area, there is also a fence. Three gold covered auction catalogues with black printing for Australia's First (Believed to be World's First) Gold Nugget Auction held in the Memorial Hall, Pall Mall, Bendigo on the 24th May, 1980. Catalogues are made of card and are tri-fold. On the front is a black sketch of Bendigo Historic Post Office. The inside which is white are the Conditions of Sale, the centre has the List of Nuggets which includes Lot No., No. of Nuggets and Approx. Lot Wt. in Grains. Under this are the Ingots which includes the Lot No. and Approx. Weight in Grains. Some notes are underneath. Eighteen printed paper voters rolls for The Barkly Ward 1896 - 1912 and 1914. One supplementary voters list, undated. Voters lists are stapled together, and each have water marks, various ragged edges, folds and tearing to the pages. Printed by various printers of Bendigo. W.Honeybone is the Town Clerk. Sepia coloured photograph of four women and a man standing in front of the Belmont hotel. Two photos one an enlarged copy of the other. The licensee was Ann Jackson wife of Edward Jackson who was blinded in an underground explosion at the Lady Barkly mine in 1875. "The Forest People use poison on their darts, and on some of their arrows, to stun or kill small prey. Poison Brewers distil the venom, which is obtained from roots, bark, leaves, and the skin of a certain frog-like creature. Alchemancers distribute the venom to hunters and healers. Poison-impregnated darts are kept in special pouches or quivers, blessed by the Alchemancer or the Guardian with special spells and incantations to prevent accidents and the perversion of the tools by evil spirits. Each of these quivers carries amulets of protection. The quivers themselves, were made by a specially trained craftsman who is able to sing incantations into the actual structures themselves, ensuring double and sometimes treble protection from danger, as well as increased effectiveness, sureness of flight, efficacy of the poison etc. Quivers such as these are kept on the belt, on the side away from the dominant hand, to ensure considered, careful use, and to prevent the wrongful use of poison when a simple arrow would be sufficient." - Inga Hunter

The photograph was taken in 1989 when the children in grades 4 an 5 attended a school camp at Gundiwindi, which is in the Yarra Valley on the border of Wandin and Nth. Silvan. At the camp the children were acquainted with the skills used by the local indigenous people. The children the photograph attempted to construct a bark shelter along the lines of those build by the local indigenous people. The Aboriginal scarred tree was growing along the Redesdale Road just north of the Langley State School.The scarred tree is evidence of Aboriginal technology as the bark from such trees was used for many items. This is one of the maps drawn by Frank L. Frost while he was beekeeping in North-East Victoria. This skirt belonged to Miss Margaret Morison Ward Cole and was reportedly worn for her role as bridesmaid for the marriage of Miss Barkly, daughter of Sir Henry Barkly. George Ward Cole, father of Margaret, was an early member of the Victorian Parliament and the family featured prominently in Melbourne Society in their time. They established a substantial home known as “St Ninians” at 10 Miller Street in 1841. The family reportedly entertained Melbourne’s first Royal visitor The Duke Of Edinburgh, Queen Victoria’s second son at St Ninians in 1867. In later years St Ninians was subsequently sub divided and later demolished. Sir Henry Barkly was the second Governor of Victoria.A cream paper silk taffeta crinoline skirt c.1862. This skirt features a flat front across the front waistband but a gathered across the back. At the front it is floor length whilst at the back it features a small train. Presumably the skirt was concealed at the sides and back at the front features decorations that do not continue around the back. The front decoration consists of three tiers of pleated pale violet to pale pink silk ribbon with a deep drop of cream lace. He created the plants, animals, mountains, waterways, sky and under Country. After which he turned himself into an eagle. He has two wives, Kunuwarra the black swan sisters. After he completed all of creation he flew up into the sky at Lal Lal Falls and he now watched over us as a star in the night sky and as an eagle by day.Brown, red and white tone feather motif with yellow eye design on outer clock, red and black diamond and circle design in lining.
