The shield was donated by Tatura Chemist Mr Trevor LaPeyre for competition by district schools annually at Tatura Showgrounds. Trophy held by winning school for 12 months. Dhurringile is the only competing school not mentioned on winners plaques.Timber backing with silver shield and 29 small shields showing winning school and date. T.D.S.S.A. commenced in 1945 with all local and district primary schools competing for the LaPeyre Shield. In 1973 the Assn. was split so that smaller rural schools competed for the Tatura Milk Products Shield. After 1976 the competition for shields changed to a system not competing for shields.Heart shaped wooden backing with silver shield in centre. Small shields surround central one with name of winning school and year engraved. Silver ribbon above with T.D.S.S.A. engraved.T.D.S.S.A. This trophy was initiated at T.LC. in 1956, donated by Mr H.S. (Tib) Reilly to attract prominent district & Melbourne players to the annual tournament on Australia Day weekend. The conditions were that any player winning the event 3 times would hold the trophy permanently and Mr Reilly undertook to provide a replacement. Mrs Val Constable (nee Huxtable) won the trophy outright for the first time in 1962 and she has donated it to the museum to honour Mr Reilly's contribution to the Tatura community. Mr Reilly was a prominent businessman, J.P. and very active in promoting the development of Tatura. Winners from 1956-1962: 1956 Mrs N. Nethersole, 1957 Miss P. Radford, 1958 Miss V.
