The waist has darts at the bust line and the skirt is of a gored style, there is a belt at the waist. The hem line are all below the knee and are all wearing high heals. Clothing - SAGE COLOURED SILK LONG SLEEVED DRESS, 1880-1890's
Sage coloured silk long sleeved dress. One piece full length dress. Full length side panels from shoulder to hem. Front of bodice extends below waist line to form two points on either side of front opening. Front opening is fastened with twelve fabric buttons (1-5cm) and button holes. Small standup collar(3cm) fastened at throat with hook and eye. Bodice shaped with two darts on either side of front opening. Small ruched pocket on LHS of bodice at waist level. Long narrow fitted sleeves shaped at the elbow. Decorative cuffs at wrists of ruched frilling (8cm) with triangularturned flap on top edge at back of cuff. Back of dress has four panels. The two centre panels extend below waist to to two points. The centre skirt panel is attached under the centre two panels and is gathered by five deep pleats to form a bustle effect extending to a long train. Front centre panel has horizontal gathering with ruched frills in centre, and at sides. Side panels overlap front centre panel. Hemline has pleated frill above the hem which is finished with cord. Edwardian black lace long skirt. Four layers. Top layer of black lace in three panels. Top and bottom panels gathered centre panel flat seamed scalloped hem line. Second and third layers of black net with cut edges. Fourth layer of black satin. Skirt gathered onto 7cm waistband of black shantung. Thirty three cm split from waist at the back. Back fastening at waist overlapping with three hooks and eyes and two press studs. Purchased at an antiques store in Camberwell in 1970's. No provenance. Clothing - COAT, 1939-40
Long sleeved burgundy coloured coat - velvet fabric lined with ''dusty pink'' satin with woven floral pattern. Lining hand stitched to coat. Second layer of cotton lining across the shoulders and back( 39cmsLength). Sewn into neck and shoulder seams. Large uneven stitches attach the lining to side seams. Coat and lining have seven gored panels giving fullness to the coat. Fold over collar (14 cms). Front opening with ten velvet covered shanked buttons with fabric loops. Long sleeves gathered at shoulder and cuffs(2 cms), with six cms opening with press stud fastener.Owner of coat was Isabel Lilian Pegler (nee Mair) 1921-1997. The coat was worn to Saturday night dances. Isabel liked to point out that her coat had a double lining in the upper back for extra warmth as she liked to wear backless dresses to the dance.costume, female, long sleeved coat -

Document - ALBERT RICHARDSON COLLECTION: CARLISLE UNITED MINE GARDEN GULLY LINE
Eight page handwritten document with details of the Carlisle United Gold Mine at Long Gully. The lease was 76 acres, 660 yards on line of reef. The Kent shaft was the next mine north Havilah Road, Boldt Street's corner. 'The Carlisle United was formed by the amalgamation of ttte companies, the Old Carlisle, the North Garden and the Passby. These mines were situated on the west side of Bennett Street in about a length of a few hundred feet, with the Passby on the Casley Street corner. And the old Carlisle and North Garden only recently being unearthed beneath the Unity, 'Carlisle' sand heap.' Details about the mining plant, the main shaft, the winding engine air compressor, stone crusher, and engine house are given. The Kent shaft and steel poppet legs are described. Clothing - MARONG MUNICIPAL BAND BLAZER, Mid 1900's - 2000
Clothing. Navy blue, wool, fully lined blazer, presumably worn by a drum section member as the right sleeve has a cloth badge, embroidered with a drum. Long sleeves are elaborately decorated with red felt and gold braid, and finished with three gold plastic buttons bearing the impression of a laurel wreath, and horn as a replica of the British Light Infantry. Two splits on back - one on each side of centre back. Red felt with four peaked stripes of gold braid, on the lower right sleeve - possibly indicates rank of the drummer. Red felt epaulettes trimmed with gold braid and buttons (as above). Two false pocket flaps - one either side of front. Fully lined with a woven patterned taffeta. Sleeves lined with cream polyester (?) with a self stripe. A red felt tab on either side of front revere collar, bearing a metal Leidertafel badge on each tab. One inside pocket on right front. Black single breasted tail coat.Jacket cut away and squared at waistline, two X 2 cm buttons on either side of front opening. Long sleeves with three V buttons and vent at wrist level 1.5cm. Clothing - VICTORIAN BLACK SILK AND VELVET BODICE, Late 1800's
Fine, soft silk, woven with a two mm spot, spaced at one cm all over the fabric.Above the wrist-length sleeves finished with a six cm wide black velvet cuff. Sleeves are gathered at the shoulder and the cuff. A 26cm long ''over -sleeve'' is gathered at the shoulder, and edged with two bands of black velvet-one of .8 of 1cm, and one 2cm wide. Bodice has a 6.5cm stand-up mandarin style collar, which is boned in three places. Three metal hooks, and embroidered eyelets fasten the collar - (2 damaged). The shoulder line has 12 pintucks, 20 cm long, and finishing to give fullness to the bustline. Six pintucks either side of back opening. Over the shoulders is a loose panel - 25cm wide at the shoulder, tapering to 7.5cm wide at the waistline - five bands of velvet taper from shoulder to waistline, emphasing a V shape, from shoulders to narrow waist. A 17cm deep panel of pintucking extends from shoulders at front and back. Six X 4cm deep tucks extend from the pintucks to the waistline.costume, female, victorian black silk and velvet bodice -

Clothing - CREAM SILK - SATIN LONG SLEEVED BODICE, 1850's
Cream silk satin bodice, with a high round neckline, finished with a seven cm deep, cream lace, boned, mandarin stand up collar - five bones-(one missing) to support the collar. Nine 16cm bones support the shaping of the tapered firmly fitted waist. A ten cm deep yoke at front and back shoulders. Below the yoke is a panel of eleven cm long pintucks right across the front, and on either side of the back. Centre front gathers into a cotton tape band at the waistline. Below the neckline of the centre front, is a panel ten cm deep of cotton lace, then a 13cm deep fine silk, gathered frill, edged with a reinforced silk ruffle. The centre back opening has a double placket, each fastening with alternate hook and eye,hook on either side of opening. Two large hooks facilitate a joining with a skirt.The three quarter length satin sleeves, are a bell shape, and gather into a cream net, eight cm deep band, which fastens with two metal hooks and hand made loops. Over the net is a double frill, 13 cm deep, and edged with a reinforced silk ruffle, as in the centre front panel. This bishop-type sleeve has five X 12cm long pintucks at the shoulderline. A ten cm long row of a feather stitch type of hand embroidery on either side of front bodice-one each side of the gathered centre front panel. Copy of an article from the Bendigo Advertiser titled Extracts from the Advertiser - April 1903. An article mentioning the progress of the electric trams in Bendigo in 1903 and some disruption it caused to the telephone service and fire alarms. Clothing - BLACK SILK SATIN BEADED BODICE, 1850's
Silk, satin, fully lined with silk (?). Eleven bones, ranging in length from 10 - 12 cm long, taper the bodice to the waistline. 15cm wide panels of beaded net come from the high back waistband, over the shoulder to the front waistband. These are loose panels with linear beading, and more decorative beading over the shoulders. Centre front panel has a net overlay, sheer above the bustline to the throat, with a 16cm high net stand-up, mandarin collar, edged in lace, and outlined at the throat with a row of tiny jet beads. Cotton perspiration pads under the arms.A beaded '' butterfly'' shape sits over the bustline where the sheer lace panel begins. Below the beaded motif, five roulet knotted and loops fasten into the finest of metal loops to close the bodice. Silk ''over -sleeves'' also have three roulet looped decorations at each edge. Below the elbow length ''over sleeves'', a double layer of net sleeves-the top layer finished with seven rows of tiny jet beads, the lower wrist length net sleeve, finished wit one row of tiny jet beads, and a two cm net fill. Beading and an embroidered ribbon flower trim the back centre net panel, and a roulet looped trim, sits at the centre back waistline. An extension of the beaded over -the-shoulder panels falls in a rectangular shape 38cm X 23cm. The front extension of the ''over the shoulder'' beaded net, falls in two oval shapes - one either side of opening 24cms long. Clothing - CREAM SILK EVENING CAPE (RELATED TO 11400.842)
Cream silk, woven in a jacquard style, featuring a floral design. Fully lined with cream silk satin. A 4cm deep, stand-up mandarin style collar. Eight metal hook and eyes fasten the front in a concealed way. Heavy cording, finished with pearl trimmed tassels,a double inverted pleat, 22cm long at the centre back hemline. Three darts at shoulders giving a 'sleeve-like' shape. Lower edges of which are elaborately corded. A 12cm'slit' at the lower edge seam with the front panel gives more flexibilty to the wearer. Tassel head and decorative 1.5cm ''ball'' are woven in a ''turks head'' style.
